New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

That's exactly where they should've been placed in the South Stand. We were all complaining about the huge grey wall in the middle without a purpose. There should've been hundreds of premium view disability seats right in between the lower and upper.

Would love to know their reasoning for going with the option they went with because it's undeniably poor aesthetically.
I'm not even sure if there are any premium hospitality spaces for disabled fans. I mean legally there should be, but not sure if there is tbh.

I do agree the big slab of grey looks unsightly and really could be improved.

For what it's worth mate, I don't think anybody is suggesting the disability section is unwanted, far from it. It's just that the design is so drab and spacious that it makes it look like the wheelchair users look like they've been banished from the rest of the fans.

Mate I honestly get the placement argument what I can't stand is people moaning about the size of them. It's horrible complaining how big they are.

As I've said yes the placement could have been better, but they would be that size where ever they were built in the stadium.

I agree it looks like banishment, however, the size isn't the issue the fact they are grey slabs with no colour is bad and they stand out a lot.

I think this too. It wasn't in the original plans/renders.

@ashwuk76 @Saint Domingo Calm it gents, lets not be so quick to assume the worst in people.

The Everton-ification of BMD will come in due course, dunno why everyone it loosing their shiz over it now.

I’m more concerned about the functional aspects of the ground - transport to and from the stadium which is still a bit of a mess, turnstile queues entering, bars and concourses not working or running out of product and massive queues at them and the exit from the ground post match, which wasn’t great going past the away end last night.

These issues need addressing as a priority, not there’s too much grey or away fans are on the screen too much.

I honestly get the placement argument and I agree I favoured disabled supports being in amongst over fans. But they would be the same size no matter where they built them. People have been complaining about the size for 4 years and it's kinda tiring tbh.

My exit from Gwladys Street took me straight onto County Road so wasn't aware of that.
That's a decent point to be fair, probably far more directions to egress from Goodison than at HD/BM.

I guess at some stage there'll be some bunch of idiots who'll start something for the 'banter'.

On a separate note, I know it's only a small sample size, but it feels as if everyone in the crowd, walking there and back is far happier than at Goodison. I guess that might change if the weather and the results turn. Just nice at the moment, long may it continue.

I think there's premium in East Stand (i also thought West as well but i may be wrong on that score)

I think the original renders had spaces in the South East and South West corners in the middle tiers which i thought would be a cool view and have the fans right in amongst the atmosphere. Not sure if they decided to change the design due to accessibility (lifts required to get to those locations) and then decided to move those spaces to the front either side of the goal.

Its good to get your point of view though mate, with your dad being in a wheelchair. I dont think @Saint Domingo meant any offence with what he was saying, but its good to hear what its like from your point of view and what you think of the areas and how that benefits/impacts you and your dads experience of the game.

Yeah I think when they designs changed from the higher capacity to this version things changes for the worse imo. I agree in with the fans is far better. Like Wembley and Emirates.. Newcastle has to be the worst.. had to have someone help me carry my dad up a flight of stairs to the area !!

Been in a fair few disbaled areas down the years, good and bad. Trust Everton disabled supporters club would have been consulted on this. They would have had lots of opinions.

He may or not have meant any offence I will take your word on it. As I say happy to talk about placement but size would be the same anywhere they put them

Your last paragraph an interesting one. I travel the length of the M62 and up to May parked just off County Road. So another fifteen minutes walk saw me at the ground. No such worries about the weather. Now thanks to Rotheram and his planners I parked just outside the restricted zone near Bankhall. The walk down to the stadium in the sunshine took twenty five minutes. The walk back, mostly uphill took thirty. Until I find a nearer parking spec, that midweek game in February fills me with dread regarding the climate.

My concern has and always will be the ice n frost blowing in off the Irish sea in mid December, it'll be freezing to the top tiers of whichever stand has it blowing in upon, and if it rains and everyone is walking home, that trudge back to transport or town centre is going to be ludicrous bad. Frozen solid, kids crying, hypothermia, ambulances, the works.
