New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

The security tried to stop the home fans from North and West stands walking up the North side when exiting last night. It created a huge bottleneck very quickly. Looked like their plan was to prioritise away supporter exit. This changed quickly as there was 1000s penned in and 1000s more following from behind. The security seemed oblivious to this. Fans had to move barriers to prevent a safety issue. No common sense. They should be keeping the away support in the ground.

If the future plan is to funnel home supporters from the North and West stands back along the West tunnel and past the South stand there is going to be a safety issue on exit.
Just gonna post this, they will need to keep away fans in til we’ve cleared I reckon, could be tricky if they don’t.

The fact you are complaining about the space taken up by accessible seating IS you complaining about it and thinking others are more entitled to be there.

No it isn’t. There was accessible seating at Goodison on 4 sides of the ground including behind the goals, there’s accessible seating at every stadium behind the goals. I’m not saying anyone is more or less entitled to be sat in that position. Stop drawing inferences that aren’t there to suit your opinion.

Wow.

That's off the charts crazy.

Who on earth trained those stewards?

So your complaint is how big the area is. Ok so I will ask what exactly IS your point about the area being to big?

And for a THIRD time, If the area is too big where do you disbaled fans being put?

It isn't to fit my opinion the complaining about the space are YOUR words not mine..

dunno mate but it was room enough for each steward to starfish

I wouldn't quite go that far, but you do have a point - unfortunately I think PL regs say that we can't just shift away fans up in the gods (only clubs who've got historic segregation in place can get away with that), so where they are is where they're staying.

Wolves spring to mind as the ones who look worst for this as most of the lower tier you see on TV is away fans on the side of the pitch, so it's not a unique problem.

The TV angle of the south stand isn't particularly flattering for some reason. The positioning of the disabled areas there (and you're right to flag this as a sensitive topic) doesn't do anything for the aesthetics of making it look intimidating, but I don't think you can do anything about that now.

A lot of this could be rectified by simply not having so much exposed concrete on view
Watching on tv doesn’t really show the size of the any of the stands. The camera positions are quite low down and you only see the lower tiers all around. I don't think the south stand as a continuous single tier “wall “ is quite like we all thought it would be, the dividing blue section between the seats and the standing areas break it down into two sections. It would have been better to do it safe standing all the way front to back. It also looks like 2:1 ratio could work in future, looks like theres loads of room, but i know its not just about that, its also about the capacity of the concourse and exiting safely. Sounds like I’m having a moan here over minor things, just observations from my visit and seeing it on tv. The ground is fantastic, just needs the flags over the barriers etc and all will happen in time.

I’m not going to further engage with you because you’re simply way too angry about this and not even reading what I’m writing and drawing inferences that aren’t there.

The caps words are really weird as well.

The fact you wont answer my questions is very telling.

You won't engage because you have realised you are wrong and can't back track.

I hadn't realised what people were on about regarding what we could see on TV as I went the brighton match and haven't seen anything since. Here's some screenshots. It's not exactly the 'blue walls' we were promised is it. Imagine when we're playing them lot... all the crap they bring along like birthday balloons and stuff is going to be embarrassing to say the least.
Move them to the section above

Can people please stop complaining about how big the accessible seating area is. Moaning about it makes you look a little discriminatory.

They are that size for a reason. When you have been in a wheelchair you will understand. Stop being bitter and just be pleased with our magnificent stadium.

They need to Everton-ise the interior. The same blue paint, cover or whatever they applied to the wall separating the South upper and lower needs to be applied behind the disabled sections and the terrace entranceways as soon as possible.
Yup. I think that would make a big difference. It seems to me that the colour of the concrete there is the issue. The effect right now is of a lot of dead space. That can be improved with a coat of paint. Lots of the aesthetic issues in the stadium - exposed concrete, grey pitch surrounding barriers, exposed roof - can be addressed with a coat of paint.
