New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I hadn't realised what people were on about regarding what we could see on TV as I went the brighton match and haven't seen anything since. Here's some screenshots. It's not exactly the 'blue walls' we were promised is it. Imagine when we're playing them lot... all the crap they bring along like birthday balloons and stuff is going to be embarrassing to say the least.

They need to Everton-ise the interior. The same blue paint, cover or whatever they applied to the wall separating the South upper and lower needs to be applied behind the disabled sections and the terrace entranceways as soon as possible.

At least it will give the viewing public a chance to see how obsessed they are with us and how much we matter to them!

Yes I agree, it's quite easily achievable and might be something they can fix before the next game. The away section is another issue entirely though.

I agree but at spurs and Arsenal, away fans are positioned in the same areas. Whereas at Newcastle your sat with the gods and wouldn’t know there was any away fans at all at the ground

Obviously last night with the bigger alloction the away fans were even more prominent.

On Arsenal - I've never thought of the away fans dominating the eyeline so it cant be in exactly the same position as our away section...or maybe the camera height at the two stadiums make the difference. I think the issue becomes more acute for us given that the home end seems to be broken up near the lower rows of the lower deck due to the disabled bays.

I hate bringing up disability and I doubt too much can / will / should be done about it other than to maybe cosmetically change colours of walls in the home end...and elsewhere.

But we have a problem on visuals here. We look anonymous in our own stadium.

It smacks of focus groups with people who know nothing about the tribalism of football support.
“Hey there’s a sea of limbs, that looks great for the TV cameras”.
Yes, no view obstructing posts, but little to no thought about actual home fans.

Did anyone in the upper East / North corner get any communication from the club when they bought their season ticket that they could be moved to accommodate an expanded away fan ticket allocation?

Not me though, so again it’s the first time I’ve mentioned it, no campaign here.

Where did i say I hated disabled fans being there?

You have gone massively overboard, just calm down ffs.
there should be a hub of fans behind the goal but instead a large portion of it is cut away with accessible seating at the front and then the stairs and exits

Those are your words. So yes you are complaining about disabled fans being there and it seems you think you and others are more entitled to be there..

So no I want "calm down" those are literally your words.

Some valid points. However my biggest gripe is the lack of branding of the club around the stadium. Even if Hill Dickinson were paying us 100m a season, their branding shouldn’t have more promience over that of the club. Disgusting really. It’s something the club needs to address quickly.

I wouldn't quite go that far, but you do have a point - unfortunately I think PL regs say that we can't just shift away fans up in the gods (only clubs who've got historic segregation in place can get away with that), so where they are is where they're staying.

Wolves spring to mind as the ones who look worst for this as most of the lower tier you see on TV is away fans on the side of the pitch, so it's not a unique problem.

The TV angle of the south stand isn't particularly flattering for some reason. The positioning of the disabled areas there (and you're right to flag this as a sensitive topic) doesn't do anything for the aesthetics of making it look intimidating, but I don't think you can do anything about that now.

A lot of this could be rectified by simply not having so much exposed concrete on view

Dont get me started on the deal with those no mark ambulance chasers.

But that's another part of the visual mess at this stadium.

It's a great building and a credit to the club, but some stuff needs URGENTLY sorting out on how our fans are presented and how we start to dominate this stadium.

I will ask again...

Where do you want disbaled fans being put?

The irony of @davek liking your post saying I've gone overboard when he's the biggest overboard person on the entire forum isn't lost on me.

Where have I said others are more entitled to be there? There was accessible seating at Goodison behind both goals? I’m commenting on the space taken up in the stand by the size of the stairs, the doors, and the accessible areas. I’m not making any comment on who is more entitled to sit in any specific areas.

The fact you are complaining about the space taken up by accessible seating IS you complaining about it and thinking others are more entitled to be there.
