Empty seats when so many couldn't get tickets - how do we resolve this?

The way it's batches that are empty and not empty seats here and there suggests it's not auto cup ST holders just not turning up.

Maybe dodgy resale sites getting hold of batches of tickets and not being able to sell them at daft prices?
Not sure how far the hospitality areas stretch in the West but I said to my mate last night that they could be the hospitality blocks that Seat Unique have bought.

When I looked earlier in the week, they didn't appear to be trying to sell any of their usual areas for the Mansfield fixture. Think they were only offering Club View and 1 of the bars, which also wasn't a bar they seem to have on offer for the upcoming league matches.

Did you notice Mansfield had no issues getting their fans into the ground and selling out?

It's almost like paper tickets are a revolutionary idea.
They had big issues to be fair, I think that is why the game was delayed. I walked down the north stand at about 7pm and they had a queue up to two windows that lasted until towards the end of the plaza. They were saying they hadn't received their tickets. Easily a thousand people in that queue.

Perhaps some premium allocation didn't get reallocated/shifted but Seat Unique was sold out yesterday.

The issue as long predicted is the lack of ability to readily transfer tickets.

Life gets in the way sometimes, and people can't give their tickets away without a real faff.

Older fans aren't arsing about with that ticket transfer stuff. I'm 30s and I shudder if I have to login to Everton ticketing. Try calling? 3-6hour wait.

Countless times over the years I've had a spare, and would give it away. People take nieces/nephews their first game etc - they might not be invested in football/Everton, but they get a chance to start their journey. Students new to the city go the game. Now? There's a significant obstacle of requiring membership.

Empty seats will be inevitable when Everton create barriers to transfer tickets, in their pursuit of forcing paid annual memberships. It'll get worse as the season goes on too, as people wont be paying annual membership with fewer games of the season to go.

My mate has done that for his mates and family. They'll find a way of closing that loop hole I guess at some point.
As long as your wallet and email address are linked can be on as many phones as you want i guess, well 3 so far I've tried. Downloaded my match ticket yesterday on 3 devices and rucked with an old redmi no sim or Internet when away from home and got in no problems on the QR. Closing it would literally have to go finger print eye scan etc.

The upper west block of empty seats in the photo is not in “Village St”.

Looking at that photo the hospitality area finishes roughly to the left of the media section by the steps. There are some hospo seats to the right of that set of steps and there is a dividing wall(low)…it can be picked up out from the front of the upper west stand.

That's the essence of it.

On Sunday you can see one of the areas in the west lower but not in corporate was completely empty, same block empty again last night

I wonder if these are hotel type packages and didn't sell/separate to seat unique as their 'premium' seats are in NE corner upper above the away fans

You'd think that the club would have a cut off. Say Thursday 5pm for a Saturday game, whereby they buy the general admission tickets back off these companies if they've not been able to sell them. And then list them on the website, even if they put them on as resale tickets.

Ultimately they may not care as they've sold the seat anyway and been paid for it, but surely better to have somebody sat in those seats and spending money in the ground as well as the visuals of it not looking empty.

I know Seat Unique will be lurking around the fan sites to gauge opinions, nobody is paying £200+ for a ticket sorry, keep on trying to sell them though. Only Corporates will be buying them for entertaining clients.

I was looking at getting a couple of tickets for some friends who wanted to go to a match at the new place. Cheapest for the Palace game was £150 each, for bog-standard seats in the north-east corner, which is probably the least popular area. Ok, I know its all about making money but that seems a bit steep to me, and I'd be surprised if they sell out every game this season.

It's a shame. As has been said, we'll never actually have a capacity crowd by the looks of it, and certainly not for a cup game where they're leaving entire blocks empty.

Exactly, but it feels like most blues accepted the reality of modern footy in a new stadium will be swallowed by the fans, not the shareholders in the long run.

£6 donuts FFS.

They may end up reselling them tickets back to the club at a discount to sell on the door at this point!
