Empty seats when so many couldn't get tickets - how do we resolve this?

I think most premier league clubs now have a system where STH can either sell their ticket back to the club or transfer it to another person with a membership. I know people who have "shared" a ST for years and this was much easier when it was a physical card that could be passed back and forth. When the club started using digital tickets, with a QR code, you could screen shot it and send it. Now the club have changed it again and you need the digital ticket and a phone with NFC, it makes it harder again to share season tickets.

I know fans at other clubs that have this and what they have done is bought a "season ticket phone". so the season ticket is just on that phone and it gets passed to whoever is going to that game
My mate has done that for his mates and family. They'll find a way of closing that loop hole I guess at some point.

Ditto, it'll be a massive cockup, like the afterthought of no priority window for the displaced.
At least the lack of a priority window for displaced ST holders is something that, one would think, can be easily remedied by the next home cup fixture. Retooling the way the concourse is segregated is significantly higher hurdle.

No…I’ve got 2 so it was genuine.

After all the comments on NFC I was surprised(pleasantly) that the QR code worked and the equipment was in place to accept it.
I do wonder if you can share a screenshot of the qr code for ease in someone else using the ST instead, rather than deleting out of wallet, do the hokey-cokey

My mate got to the turnstile yesterday and this ticket didn't work so he went the ticket office and they told him "they'd double sold this ticket" and basically went on to say whoever got in first got the seat.

Even worse they couldn't reimburse him and he'd paid 15 quid for parking as well.

Poor sod basically had to drive back his and catch second half on the telly.

Am sorry thats absolutely diabolical.
Same thing happened to my mate when he tried to get in - they told him to go to the ticket office, he politely declined and told them where to go, and so they let him in anyway.

Nobody was sat in his seat when he got in either.

my mate said it happened to him and his mate at the turnstile ( i posted last night )

but they let them in

On the face of it, an attendance of well over 48,000 for a second round match against lower league opposition is truly stupendous. It just shows what a big club we are.

Something is bugging me, though. My son couldn't get a ticket for the game. Despite this, I noticed many unoccupied seats tonight. Our great stadium holds almost 53,000 people, so what happened to those 4 or 5 thousand seats? Having large banks of unoccupied seats is not conducive to a good atmosphere at all.

How can we resolve this issue?

I think someone identified this as a likely issue before the first game. Namely that Seat Unique are trying to maximise their profits by "going big" on the prices and setting the bracket/expectation of what a customer is going to have to pay.

Yes they could reduce them in order to get bums on seats but they know people will be savvy enough to spot that pattern and wait until the price drops. The price won't drop. They rather whole blocks of seats are empty and people get used to paying extortionate prices.

Unfortunately that's who we've signed up with. Same with the awful Amarak, it's all about the bottom line, not the customer/fan.

That's scandalous. Double selling tickets is bad, flogging em to frigging ghosts is just prime Everton.

Sounds like a staff issue, 'computer says no' take your problem to the ticket office because I cba!

This isn't how to win hearts and minds, make the new ground enough of a pain and all the good will and excitement wont last!

Someone has made a pigs ass of the allowance of a cup game allocation
The aways should have been calculated including the concourse segregation requirement.

Although, it has just occurred to me.

You won't need to segregate Taylor Swift fans or similar, and that's where they're aiming at taking the ground. So cup discomfort wont have been factored in because it's not going to happen often enough to count.

So what's the score for other sporting events, we'll see what the rugby league does later this year and how they filter fans for that.

Cup competition games will be a prize for aways because they get to visit the newest ground in the country, so take up will be big for a few years yet.

hmmm.
