Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You've got a bloated squad of 24, Onyanko included.
Match day needs just 20.
And a season may capped at 41 games...
So if not for the kids, then what exactly is the plan?
Injuries and injury recovery mean that any point 24 is more like 20 in reality. Add in the fact that several of the 24 are not good enough and that we want to send several out on loan then the effective squad size reduces further. Most PL managers consider that the ideal squad size is 25 or 26 including 3 keepers. Emerging youngsters like Armstrong are bonuses not included in that core number unless they have already accumulated multiple PL starts.

So business end of the transfer window it seems..... What are the plans by Monday?

Out
Chermiti
McNeil (hopefully)
Armstrong (loan) - I think he could do a job still with us
Patterson (loan??)
Tyrer (loan)

In
New RB
DCM
Another striker if Chermiti is going.. hopefully 1st choice

If above happens would leave us with:

GK x 3
DF x 8
MF x 7
F x 5

With a fully fit team then:

Pickford
RB Tarks JB Myko
DM KDH
Dibling NDiaye Grealish
Striker

Bench - Travers, JOB, Keane, Aznou, Gana, Garner, Alcaraz, Beto, Barry

Leaves Tim, Coleman and King as others that can come in.

Not expecting all of this to happen, as this is a complete overhaul in one window... but really what I would like to see.

Logic, four days left, teams are playing the weekend so a lot more difficult sorting desks out as various people will be engaged in other tasks including the players you're after, today and tomorrow are pretty much the days when we'll have most chance to get discussions sorted with parties involved.

As you say, nobody is massively going to want to do stuff on Saturday/Sunday.

With football basically everyone seems to blink at the last minute.

Gana starts every week for me. Still an unbelievable player, who is going to cost us a fortune to replace.
