Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Pace and power in midfield still. You could see last night just before half time when Mansfield kept the ball there was five minutes where we were chasing shadows. Top teams will do that to us much more, it was happening v Brighton and basically the whole first half v Leeds. Dibling will help, but we need a holding midfielder that will allow all the others to push much higher to win the ball back.

Be interesting what striker we get personally I'd like a more experienced head even if it's a loan. A quick pure slotter type rather than a tall rangy type as we already have two of those and one is very much a work in progress.

I mean there is one option with a face like one of the goblins off Noddy and a nosey bird, but surely there's someone else out there a bit younger.

What on earth are you on about  4 of those 24 are goalkeepers and 4 others are Onyango, Patterson, Chermiti and Coleman.
Onyango isn’t even in the 24 on goats list.

In that 24, despite having 20 outfield players for 10 positions, onyango and Campbell are still on the bench.

Chermiti and Patterson don’t offer anything really. Coleman was a nice surprise yesterday that he lasted all game. But that can’t be relied on. (Even the club posted out that’s his first full 90 in 12 months).

Also not taking into account the other 3 underage - Armstrong, Aznou and Dibling who all need time and guidance.

Again we went to a 433 at least in the 2nd half last night

This happened on Sunday and it's a bit of a surprise to me as Moyes has usually favoured a 4231 in the past

I'm not sure we've got the right profile of number 6 at the club to play this way and, tbh, I'm not sure other than KDH that we've got the right number 8s either - Gana Gueye can do a job as a 6, but it's not his game and Jimmy Garner can do both to a degree, but more as a jack of all trades. Iroegbunam is better as an 8 than a 6, but I wouldn't want to rely on him all season.

We won't get them, but beginning to think that we need two centre mids

To become a top 6 team we need a top quality striker.

Barry shows a lot of potential but needs to bulk up and develop but could be that player in time .

Neither Beto or Chermitti will ever become that player.

We need to move both on and bring in quality. Not easy but needs to be done for the team to progress.
I don't think we spent so much on Barry this window to then go and sign a big money experienced striker. I reckon we will revisit it in January or next summer.
