On the other hand Dwight McNeil was absolutely shocking on the right wing, hope he never plays there again. Utter Garbage.
I said the same a few comments back. Loads of groans around me everytime he did something lazy and sub-par.

I expected him to show something tonight considering he's fighting for his place in the 1st team but whenever he did something wrong or lost the ball, he showed no desire to make up for it or win the ball back. He went down massively in my estimation tonight.

Yeah it could be confidence but the only way through it is hard graft and he was lazy as tonight 👍

Same. I thought maybe he's struggling to come to terms with the fact we've upgraded massively and he's going to struggle to get into this team but I thought he had the character to relish that challenge and try to take every chance he gets. Disappointed in tonight's showing but still appreciate all he's done for us in his time here.

So not the most exciting game of football, but Alcaraz's BLAMMO makes up for it.

We didn't really look to have much urgency and looked a bit sluggish first half. But Mansfield offered nothing outside of a 5 min spell of possession at the end of the first half. They stuck 10 rugby players behind the ball and spent most of the match trying to rip the shirts off our players backs.

Comfortable result all things considered.

Congrats Toffees. You navigated that pretty well. I'm happy that we didn't get battered, but also that we tried to play the right way. Lots of 'minnows' try to lump it long against Prem opposition (sometimes to good effect), but we got it down and played. It gives me more confidence that we'll be just fine this season in League One, which is obviously the priority. Best of luck this season.

I thought your striker did what any good striker should do. Loved your fans though. They were so loud in our shiny new home. Best of luck for the season ahead.
