Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’m not a massive stats fan, instead I just compare relative quality and my opinion on it.

I don’t think Ndiaye is at the level that prime Pienaar was for us (a comparable player) and Pienaar was only at the level to play in what was a Europa league level tema at the time.

None of City Liverpool Arsenal or Chelsea would buy Ndiaye from us. They’d take Pickford or Branthwaite though, Grealish also played for them. That’s the difference in quality I’m talking about. He’s a good playmaker but he’s not a CL level playmaker, perhaps not even Europa league level. He’s been a good player in bottom half PL teams.
Rightio

He's not a playmaker - he's more of a finisher or goalscoring winger. He's also had only one season in the Premier League for a side that spent half of it looking like a sure fired relegation candidate, and scored 9 goals.

And a load of those goals are somewhat self-made or, shall we say, created, by himself, with his immaculate close control, first touch, and great dribbling.

I'm not really sure there is really a solid enough sample size to comfortably claim what level he is on or not. But in your opinion he is bottom half prem standard, and in mine (largely an eye test thing for me) his is good enough to be playing European football. And if that's a matter of opinion, that's fine

Maybe you’re right, Ndiaye needs to become more consistent, but Arsenal just signed Madueke for £55m and I would take Ndiaye all day over him.

I think if Madueke played for us we’d see the difference between the players at these top clubs and the ones at Everton. I think we often overrate our own players and severely underrate the ones from top teams. Madueke would probably be our best outfield player, unfortunately.

Search: Ivan Toney salary

Ivan Toney earns an estimated £400,000 per week (before tax) at his current club, Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, a figure that can rise with bonuses. This salary is roughly equivalent to a £1 million weekly salary in the UK after tax...

Yeah, guess he's in no rush.

In my reply I'd assumed he was actually a feasible option ( i.e. wanted to play proper football again ).

He's not a playmaker at all really is he.

He's another like Grealish and Dibling who can beat a man and carry the ball but his game isn't picking out passes. Alcaraz is the best at sliding those little balls through for the forwards imo and McNeill will get you assists.

I expect they will all start chipping in with some as they're three very similar players and I expect each of them to start when available.

I got laughed at for saying McNeil could leave.

I think he's a prime suspect.

Rather he didn’t as the squad is already small and players do get injured/suspended.

Unless we get a £20m+ offer I can’t see it as we really lack numbers

I can only see a load for a RB as incoming and that’s our business done and the only one leaving being Patterson who Moyes does not rate

He busted out and ultimately has been a flop mate. Decent start but fell out of favour, played around 50 times but more sub appearances than starts. Started both games this season on the bench too.
I did wonder how his all-energy style would last over there.

Shame, sound attitude. Could see him doing a job for us but other positions a MUCH bigger priority for me. RB, LB, DM, RW

Hayden Hackney supposedly not for sale any longer...Middlesbrough dont want to sell that late in the window with no time for replacements...this is the issue we are going to have for the next few days...deals are going to be more complicated than earlier in the window. Even loan deals are going be dependant on other deals taking place...the only players we could get in deadline day might be those from the big teams that have too bigger squads such as chelsea, city or arsenal...

Still don't think the Fofana thing is over myself, reckon something will happen maybe the last few days, if it does McNeil goes same day.
If we do end up buying a midfielder or a right back I don’t think we would have enough money for him aswell. I can’t see us loaning both a rb and a midfielder. Hackney will defo have to be a purchase.
Also where would he play now without dropping one of our new players. If we had to shift them round to accommodate.
