Dominic Calvert-Lewin watch

Respectfully disagree.

I agree players aren’t my mates or generally my enemies, although for the latter there are a few like Pepe I make exceptions for!

However if I have liked a player for either his personality or his play style or both I can’t just switch that off when he leaves our club and act like they just don’t exist anymore. Particularly if they have had some health issues, either physical or mental, I’d like them to do well.

I don't wish him ill will, but I don't want him to do well. In an ideal world the other 19 clubs would all finish joint bottom after drawing every game nil-nil or getting smashed by Everton :hayee:

Thinking of it: If I (or a BLT sandwich or a can of spam), in my current physical state and 50 years old, would've had 26 starts in a Royal Blue jersey last season, in a worst case scenario I would've scored only 3 goals less than him.

And why not. I’ve just watched his ā€˜attempts’ at scoring in open play and an absolutely laughable joke of a penalty. He is a crap striker, he was while here and seems to have taken his world class ability to miss sitters with him….
As I said countless times, when he was here, he never had a strikers instinct. He wouldn't of scored Betos goal in derby. I remember him in derby in 2019, Lukaku would scored at least 1 that day. DCL had 2 wingers stretching play, yet seemed to think he was marking VVD rather than avoiding him. I rate, Vaughan, Yakubu, and Beckford as being better than him. People forget that Vaughan would only need 1 chance to score, DCL needed about 5.

It's not that deep really. He was ok for us, he got badly advised by this agent/management company, he will be ok at best for Leeds

Is the issue the colour of his skin or his take on masculinity?

He was a bit less than OK. Scored for fun with no fans in the stands, which averages out the long stretches where he was crap.

Leeds fans will and already have made it about your potential issues.
