Player Valuation: £60m
That's the problem. He shouldn't be anywhere near the team, his body can't cope. He should've retired and joined the coaching team. Just because we've wasted more money on others doesn't mean we should waste money on a player who can't play any more. If this was anyone other than Coleman nobody would be defending this odd decision. He's been an incredible signing for us over the course of his career but for the past couple of years he's been largely unavailable and when he does play he is ruthlessly targeted by the opposition. I'm sure he still thinks he can make a meaningful contribution on the pitch but we can all see that he can't, the decision should have been taken out of his hands.Do coaches play in the first team? Don't think so. Coleman was on the bench on Sunday and will likely play some part tonight. Everton offered him the contract, he didn't hold them to ransom. Are you just annoyed that it's 55k pw to a fella past his prime?
Just for the record, Andre Gomes was on £112k pw (£5.84m pa), Dele Alli & DCL each on £100k pw (£5.2m pa), Yerry Mina was pocketing £120k pw (£6.24m pa). Were you as outraged with them?
Coleman will cost the club c £2.86m for his last contract as a player. We have wasted far more money on many others who brought nothing to the team and certainly didn't care about the club or the fans.
Bizarre take from some on here...
