Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Why is everyone talking about attacking midfielders and number 10s when the positions we need are DM, RB and perhaps another wide player.

I just can’t see us bidding for Paqueta or Gallagher or Bowen when we have Ndiaye Grealish Dibling Alcaraz McNeil for 3 positions and KDH can also play there.

We need a starting DM of high quality.

Paqueta or Bowden? Or both...
I don't think a deal for Bowen is financially viable due to his age and contract which is why he is still at West Ham, shame as he is clearly a good player. Paqueta is an interesting shout as he can play in different roles across the midfield but I'm not sure West Ham are going to want to do us/Moyes any good deeds tbh.

Pretty certain we aren't looking at any other attacking mids now, reckon a DM next and then a RB, and then nowt till last day loans maybe.

Exception being I do think if Fofanas people come crawling back to us before the window shuts we may still do that deal.

I just think for the cost and the age and our current needs neither makes sense for us now. A young player who can develop and increase in value maybe but these would be sinking 30-40m into a position right now we aren't massively in need of improving

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Great player. Instantly imporove our midfield. Was wanted by city a few years ago before his max fixing issues he's now been cleared of. Shows you his level. But of a fallen star trying to prove himself again. Perfect for us really.
Except he doesn't play the position that we need

Surprised no one has come in for Jason Knight at Bristol City, I remember him being mentioned early in the window, I've been impressed anytime I've seen him play. Would probably be more of a squad filler than a starter though but suspect he would be reasonably priced (if there is such a thing) and he is 24 so a good age.

Alright guys . Eventually we've done some good business this window but by common consent we still need a RB and CDM minimum with perhaps ( being greedy ) a utility defender, CM and another striker.

Just a few days left

Now I don't , for a minute think we will bring 5 more players in but what positions do we think we will fill and will they be loan or permanent?

Personally I think we will bring in a RB , striker and midfielder. One will permanent and 2 on loan . Haven't got a Scooby who except got a sneaky feeling that AMN will join on loan and the striker will also be on loan.

Outgoings ? Just Patterson I think.

It would be nice to finish a very difficult transfer window for Everton with players in key positions secured, and enough of a squad to create a bit of confidence in the fans. Add this to the positivity of the new 126 decibel stadium, a couple of decent performances and you’d see a fanbase healing, and a feel good factor the club can really get behind and exploit.

A competent Everton with Evertonians backing them is a rare but really good thing.

Has to be a RB surely? Whatever the slow pace, there's no way we haven't been trying to find a new one since Moyes arrived last season. DM defo a requirement too, and anything else is just icing. Or gravy. Possibly both with the new caterers we've got.

Can’t wait for the PL’s new point deduction scheme for clubs with proximity to bodies of water applicable to all teams except those with historical european cup wins set at a completely random number oh I don’t know let’s say 6, oh and also an exemption of course for any rivers running through capital cities. Applicable immediately.
