News of Ex Players

His charm , was offset by an arrogance that by running down his contract here (whilst constantly injured , a la Ross Barkley) he was after top 4 or CL abroad.
He is now a sub for the Leeds Carabao Cup squad.
No ill wishes to him , but perhaps he needs to learn from this.
He could have been playing in front of Grealish , Ndiaye and Dibling in the Prem.
Let that sink in lad , if your girlfriend approves , of course.
Absolutely. I think it's fair to say he would of started against Brighton judging by Moyes comments on Barry being eased in. Penny for DCLs thoughts on Sunday

I find it really weird to see blues online relishing his misfortune. Always worked hard for us, yes he wasn't the best finisher but did his best. Scored some important goals. Never publicly disrespected the club. Sad people tbh

Because I lost my love for going to watch us.

He, along with several others are part of the reason to blame for that.

Gave us 6 good months, thanks to being coached by a great manager.

Ran down his contract, so we couldn't get a fee, when the club stuck with him for years. The narrative of "The Palace Game", is annoying. Had he bothered to score between September-April maybe wed not have been in that mess.

So, whilst we've been scrapping with points deductions, hes been messing us around now for a good couple of years. There's a lot of players ive disliked over the past 5 years... but the way he handled himself, now hes gone, I'm thrilled.

Wear what you wanted, but when it comes to 3pm on a Saturday, I want you running through brick walls for the club. He didn't.

I think the fact DCL sacked his agent a few weeks before he signed for Leeds, shows that he has been poorly advised by his agent. His agent seems to have pushed this idea on him that there were clubs clamouring for him and ready to pay him £200k a week. Teams in the champions league and pushing for titles.

When the reality was that signing a new contract with Everton, possibly on a reduced wage, would have been his best option.
Personally I don’t really have an issue with him letting his contract run out, but I understand people that do. My thought on it was that, he didn’t cost us very much (£1.5m) he was with us a long time and no player wants to be injured. Broadly I wish him well, just don’t want him to score against us.

The contract issue is only a minor thing for me.

Its more a case, he earned a small fortune, and never delivered, he wasnt very good, but believed his hype.

Poorly advised, but messed the club around. Scored 16 goals in the 19/20 season... scored 17 goals in yhe following 4 seasons.

Left on a source note... in a time where no one knew how much of a budget wed have. It could have been disastrous. Looks like it wont be.

But isnt that the clubs fault as much as it is his? Our chief executive, manager and director of football at the time signed him to that contract, back in March 2020, thats; Denise, Carlo and Marcel. At that time his stock was high, all players are a gamble, this is one that didn't pay off.

I'm not sure many people saw him going as leaving on a sour note. He was injured again, we had done OK without him, Beto had a little purple patch and Alcaraz and Ndiaye had scored goals as well. Most people I spoke too were happy to see him go and would rather see anyone else given ago up top than sign him to a new contract.

Get your hands out of your pockets at least Ossie!

Can't blame him for the last one, keeper has enough of a touch to change the path of the ball.

Broke his cheek playing for us. Considering the complete lack of any quality behind him in the striker department I'm sure a lot of his injury troubles were due to him playing hurt/not fully recovered.

Was happy with the missed chances last night hopefully he can stay fit and continue to miss chance after chance hope he breaks his goalless record that he produced here twice was it something like 20 and 22 games without goals? And with a bit of luck him and Jack are in the championship where they belong.

Let's be honest players don't run down their contracts with the aim of playing for newly promoted Leeds, it must have come as a blow to his ego that
He's got a new wife and a kid, Leeds is closer to his home of Sheffield than anywhere in Cheshire. He's taken a move that suits his family life and support. It's not the catwalks of Paris or Milan, but he's probably a lot more comfortable, will commute less, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a clause in his contract that lets him talk to clubs with europe if they ask about his availability.
I'm not saying he's going to be some top scorer somewhere but if I had a Kevin Phillips type that needed a foil for crosses up front I reckon he'd do that job quite handy. That's the thing, he needs a side that's setup specific for his few strengths, he's not a luxury player by any means, but we discovered that finding the blend to make him productive isn't as easy as it is typing it.

Anyway, scumbag leeds and their scumbag support can offer their scumbag songs. Hope they alienate as many potential signings as they can.
