Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The player we are looking for (not necessarily him) is Ross B at Luton. He played a deep centre midfield, tackling very well, spraying passes over oppo's midfield. Occasionally venturing forward - into the upper third. He was brilliant there (for Luton), in my opinion more so than his role as Lukaku’s valet . I know history is exceedingly poor between Mr RB and the old Everton board, but do not have insight. However this role is what we need.

The other point about employing an aged to do this role, is I think (i don’t know) this is position that Harrison Armstrong is looking for, so a gradual bedding in a good idea, rather than buying someone who keeps him out of the side
Think you're confusing the need for a RB with the RB...

Leeds are the only PL team I could see moving for him, I don't see another, I think he might get interest from the Championship or elsewhere though.

Burnley also mate. He's not a "bad" player - he's just very limited with sne very good qualities, right team and style he's worth that money - I'd state for us he's paid his transfer back and a reason we survived also.

We haven’t been able to handle pressing tactics for 5-6 years. And it’s gotten a lot worse in the last 3. Lacking pace to break the press is a huge disadvantage. The Alcaraz to Beto outlet helped last Spring, but it’s still a concern.

NDiaye, KDH, Gana, and Grealish all made us look a little better in that regard on Sunday. Long may it continue.
It'll be interesting to see who we bring in from here on in.
Reckon we'll see "two" teams... One going for it at home (exceptions the "big boys") and the other for aways.
Either way, they'll be more control and more opportunities to break them down than we've seen for years.
That's why I reckon a more solid but, positive RB and a DM will be sorted.
Who knows. Maybe more.

They’ll need to get their skates on. It was two weeks between Grealish and Dibling and in that time I don’t recall us being persistently linked with any other players. The odd mention here and there, yes. But no target persistently reported or reported from differing sources. Six days left.
That's good isn't it....in 2 weeks the signings. Though we have to live without rumours/ need in between.

Hard going, but worth it.

As the life of an Everton fan is.

You'd be adding a 26/27 yo RB with a lot of experience a 24yo dm whose looking very very good and a player whose a punt but if it works out you've got a great little versatile midfielder.

Watched him play a few games in La Liga last year and he looked frightening good, tall, rangy, aggressive in the tackle. Obviously super tidy on the ball, goes without saying for the La Masia lot

Barca wants him gone because they need to free up space/wages to add the new players they got. He doesn't want to go, at least not permanently...barca not happy with him and are pushing for him to leave. They would probably happy with a permanent transfer, but it seems he just want a loan so that he can go back next year...I suspect he will end up somewhere on loan but in la liga.

This is the dilemma.

Do you go for him on a loan with no option, knowing as a developing player in a new league he'll have ups and downs.

In that case you wont see the benefit in 12months time. Unless he loves the club so much he decides to move next summer.

If there was a hint of a permanent deal this summer, you do the deal.

McNeil is a bit of a fish out of water in the Prem now.

Look at the sides we’ve played. Leeds wide players were James and Gnonto and Brighton had Mitoma and Minteh. Lightening quick and direct - and most teams play like that too. Not many want a plodder like McNeil.
James and Gnonto are rubbish though.

He is a good player. Hard working. Lovely left foot. Scores and assists.
Why would you not want a squad player like that?
We need more than eleven players.
