2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

I think he looked great….before he signed the contract. Whoever gave him a 2 year contract knew what they were doing
He has had two prem games after signing his deal, two bit parts... Think it's a smidge early to be writing him off mate. He will be really important as a sub or when we're carrying injuries, Not personally seen any evidence of him being crap / uninterested.... as of yet.
A short contract does however protect us somewhat if he does waver. Win win.

He's seen himself already lose his spot to someone we spent big money on who he is going to see as worse than him (whether you agree or not, he's sitting in his house tonight saying to whoever that he's better than KDH). I fully expect him to be at Real Betis or Fiorentina by the end of next summer. The level he's going to have to sustain for us to accept defeat on that other deal is probably not realistic.

I don't get the 4yr for Dybling, but the 2yr for Alcaraz does makes sense in a way, you know what your getting with the lad which is definitely good for the squad, but if he doesn't make the next step up then we're not carrying weight for to long. Also if after moyes gets a longer period with him and does see good progression, I don't think Alcarez would think twice about signing a new contract..

KDH shouldnt even be in the starting 11.

Alcy has had a lot of the focus taken off of him which could be a good thing to let him develop at the right pace into a decent player. Everybody is talking about Grealish, Ndiaye and Dibling, and yes it'll very likely restrict Alcaraz's starting game time this season, but he'll still get loads of opportunities to stake a claim and obviously with our usual dozens of serious injuries each season he'll probably get a good 15-20 starts in the league.
