Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They hit the woodwork twice, missed a pen and Welbeck somehow missed an open goal. There’s no doubt that Brighton were the better team, especially in the first half.
Fair enough. But what happens now is we don't really think about that. The team feels they got a clean sheet and win. So confidence wise that invaluable

Firstly, it’s defo not.

Secondly, are you familiar with the concept of squad depth/cover? Not a soul is advocating for this guy to come in and play 30 games. We’ve got some lovely footballers to play high up the pitch; should the occasion call for a bit more of an industrial approach we can lash him on and start lobbing balls into the box.

We already have 6 players for 3 positions there. It is the only place apart from GK where we really don't need any more bodies.

Any other day and Brighton would be 2 up by half time and everyone would be losing it. They must be wondering how they managed to lose that game.

Feels very much like Moyes has his targets and ideas for going forward, and the rest of the recruitment team have theirs.
Thank you Mr Tarkowski!

Except for perhaps the only guy the counts, Moyes.

Soucek in the Doucoure role is a substantial downgrade.

If we need a 10, that is Alcarazs position and he puts a really good thru ball for the striker.

And costs nowt
As a TDD, body through the door for squad depth Soucek is a fine addition. But he's not replacing Doucoure - KDH has already done that. We have better squad depth at 10 South NDiaye, Grealish and Alcaraz, all offering more/different profile than Doucoure. As an 8, KDH is a big upgrade.

What we need in the midfield is squad depth in the 8 and/or a holding midfielder to sit in front of the defence and give more security to the backline. Soucek is better at the former and capable at the latter

Crab like makalele, pretty much the fulcrum and heartbeat of two great sides. Renowned for being the prototype of how to play the number 6 role in the modern game....

Ok mate. In which case I'd rather have a crab like a peak makalele then thanks.
I met Makalele at the FIFA CWC this summer...nice guy, very short, likes tall women and smokes like a chimney:) ...yes off topic I know:)

I don’t really think he is. He scores goals and that masks that he doesn’t really do any of the other stuff well. I’d much rather try to build on the promise that Garner and Tim have shown.
