Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Can see why Moyes would want Soucek. In basic terms we need more goals from midfield. Was surprised to see Soucek had scored 7 and 9 in his past two Premier League seasons & we definitely need to add height in the midfield. He’s durable too, starting over 30 Premier League games in each of the last four seasons.

Concerned with his lack of mobility though and don’t really want to be paying too much for a 30 year old.
I disagree with all that, because he’s probably not going to start for us, we need a 6 and he’s not getting in
Ahead of gana and kdh
We also have 4 players 6ft 5. And Tarkowski who’s brilliant in the air
Did you watch him v Chelsea Friday night ? It was embarrassing watching him chase the Chelsea midfielders all game, he’s done and can’t run anymore. He may get us a few goals but how many will he cost us

Monaco midfielder off to Wham.

Please God this doesn't lead to Soucek coming to us.

Unlike others on here I don't think he's crap but we will massively overpay in terms of fee and wages and he's the wrong profile of midfielder that we need.
I don’t get the negativity here, surely we have to trust Moyes who has coached him daily on the benefit he’ll bring. If Moyes wants him I support this.

£50m for Strand Larsen. Why don't those idiots at Newcastle offer us that for Beto? I'd drive him there.
I think the issue is, there aren't many goalscorers available, Wolves already sold Cunha and Strand Larsen scored a fair few last season. Purely on ability it's an amazing offer but I can understand why Wolves have turned it down.

15m for him is a steal. He's basically a Gana regen. We'd better be in for a great midfielder if we're letting this just slide by.

No I don’t trust him and didn’t want him back for this reason, this prem experience nonsense and signing older players. I hope TFG/kinnear have a lock on this. We seen it at West Ham and siging player like ward prowse for 30mil and paying city 7mil for 6month loan for kalvin Phillips who wasn’t even fit,

Perhaps Moyes would utulise him as a "super sub"/battering ram if we're desperate for a goal towards the end of the game? Think of him as a wildcard.

I doubt he'd start 30 games for us.
I can’t say I’m all that positive on Soucek but we do need the option of a physical presence in there, KDH did well against Brighton but was bullied by Leeds’ midfield, he’s not necessarily the answer in those more physical confrontations. Soucek (or similar) would certainly have a use.

He's still a developmental prospect. He's great on the ball, hugely progressive with it, passing numbers & stats are fantastic. Not quite there physically and lacks a bit in the defensive side of his game at present.

The stuff he can do well is natural ability and can't be taught, the stuff he can improve on is learned behaviour and can be coached and developed.

He is an 8 rather than a 6, but would be a fantastic signing at £15/20m and gives us another player with quality on the ball in midfield.
I've seen him a fair bit, i'm just saying it's not clear to me what it is that is putting teams off but it's definitely something because he's 23 and has 4 seasons of regular football behind him without anyone making a move for him. If he doesn't go this summer he's moving out of the prospect category and into the prime years of his career. I've said it before, i'm always slightly wary of players like that, there are obviously exceptions to the rule but if players don't get picked up by this point there's generally a reason. Jacob Greaves was a similar one last year, then he played in the PL and you could see why he hadn't before.
