Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It will come down to price with Soucek. I could see him doing well getting on the end of wing play from Grealish, Ndiaye and Dibling.

Not every player can be 19 years old, but in the same way as you expect to pay more for the 19 year old with years ahead of him, you expect to pay less for someone over 30.

We will only buy him if the price is considered reasonable.
Agree. I would be surprised if the club went any higher than £15 million.

I would be surprised if West Ham sold given how many goals he scores for them and the issues with their team.

Mainoo is sooooo NOT what we need.

The lad is horrendous without the ball, zero tracking, zero positional awareness, zero defensive instincts.

Lovley on the ball though.
Oh I would have him in a heart beat lad. It's a pure failure by Almorin or whatever you call him, you had a class young player and made him worse by playing a stupid system and building it around that fanny Bruno

I think we'll be saying farewell to Gueye at the end of the season so that leaves us with no presser / protector of the back four. Garner is a decent all-rounder and KDH can break well and has good feet. If we could snaffle a Gueye regen in the next 12 months that would be immense—but not necessarily needed right now with our other priorities.

As soon as the ball gets played to Grealish, Ndiaye or Dibling we'll easily be able to craft plenty of chances either for each other or the striker, so I reckon the immediate focus should be on a permanent right back and use the loan (option to buy) market for a striker and central midfielder.

Transfer window as it stands is 7/10 because O'Brien genuinely is a decent option at full back.

Add a better, natural right back we're looking at 8.5/10, add a very decent striker on top and it's 11/10.

Not having the United manager as an issue at all here, its just his position/profile/style is not what we need.

He was the same for England, and why he got dragged off in games never to play again....very very bad off the ball, and offers nothing.

We don't need that type of player, at all.

On the ball, he can be a star....but we have loads like that now.

Wondering why we are not making more of a move for Hackney, young, solid DM to sit at the base of our Midfield. Seems a fairly low risk punt.

We need to start thinking more about who we need than who is available!
I haven't watched enough of him to know what it is, but there's evidently something about him that top level clubs aren't sure about. He's been knocking around for a while without a big club moving for him, so clearly something is putting them off.

Yeah, I'll be honest I've watched him and thought he stood out a mile in that division but you're right, there has to be something there that I'm not seeing for PL teams not to take him.

I don't know what this is, but he's clearly not as much of a no brainer as Wharton was, for example.
