He wants Napoli and they are messing about trying to get him at a lower price. I think I read us and West Ham have shown real interest but I suppose it all hinges on if Napoli decide to walk away

I think Gallagher would be excellent in the system we played on Sunday as the right sided number 8. Can't see it though. I'm not actually a huge fan of his as a player, but I can appreciate he would probably bring a lot to the team.

He is ideal for a Moyes double pivot in a 4-2-3-1, covers a lot of ground and gets up and down.

Only issue is whether he is tall enough. I feel like we need some height in one of those centre midfield roles for set pieces and second balls.

People dismissing Conor Gallagher need to follow a different sport.

He’s EXACTLY what we need.

High energy, box to box, workhorse & possesses real quality.

I’d be over the moon if he came in on loan, followed up by a CF & a RB.

We’d be well set then.

They’d need to work at making sure they don’t leave gaps but all work hard. Gallagher linking up with NDiaye on the right and KDH doing the same with Grealish on the left. Dibling to come on against tired legs or when we want to go more attacking with all 3 of our forward players

You can’t play ndiyee, grealish and dibbling without someone with experience covering the gaps they are leaving.

We absolutely do need two things:

Someone to cover the gaps behind them
Someone who can pass to them

Soucek, who over the last two seasons has been bottom ~25% for tackles among midfielders and bottom ~10% for progressive passes among midfielders...is not the answer.

He does absolutely nothing we need on top of being an un-resellable PSR waste.

KDH, is barely a centre mid.

Not that I minded watching Jack on Sunday ( I've moaned about what a strange loan this, happy to eat humble pie if produces more of that ).

I agree with this. If you look at our business with a keen eye, we're now dependent on three kids hitting the ground running and the two signings for the here and now - KDH and Grealish - staying fit and performing.

Now, it could all work out for us and the three kids make an instant impact - but I wouldn't have thought that was realistic.

We have lots of work still to do over the coming week. And there will still be plenty to do for the next window.

Played for Man Utd so instantly hailed a wonder kid and shipped into the England squad. Risky signing for me…
The argument against sounek is that he is nt a fashionable signing, but people scoffed when we were in For Tarks, Barry.
Sounek would be a plan b option, offering some height and agression at both ends of the pitch, unlikely to rock the boat and be good squad player over the season.
We need to bulk the squad.
