The 50 mill release clause for Grealish was widely reported to have been inserted by City to ensure they could uphold the book-value of the player.

I will bet my left nut we are never going to pay 50 mill for a 31 year old with one year left on contract.

Quick maths, next Summer his book price will be 16.6m.

And his wages are reported to be around 14m a year.

So that means that if City sell him for anything above 2.6m, they will make a profit.
