Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I know I am, but I’m also right, that role is overrated.
I'm sorry but you are trying to suggest that you know better than some of the best managers in recent times. That just isn't true, you like to stretch the truth at the best of times but if that was the case then you certainly wouldn't be sitting here posting on an internet football forum.

Not convinced we’ll be starting any games with practically a front “four”, but can see scenarios when we could finish them if we’re chasing a game. That looks an exciting team no two ways about it.

I wonder if Moyes would be tempted by a front 3 of Grealish, Ndayie and Dibling.

It's a bit lightweight but technically miles better than Beto or Barry

Not sure where the Paqueta chatter has come from, this is a lad that was on for a £75m move to city only for his suspect betting career to put the buffers on his big time charlie move. As for west ham, they'll not be keen on losing so much as any of the catering staff let alone first teamers.

Daily Fail

"Indeed, Everton manager David Moyes is another admirer of Paqueta as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia."

People really do underestimate how much having a big bruising 9 matters. We tried this lightweight but technically better approach with Maupay and it was crap

I’d never actually work in football because it’s an absolute nonsense industry in so many ways but that’s neither here nor there.

I’ve said this many times but I think our understanding of what matters in this sport is warped because so much of the talent is spread massively unequally. And I don’t really believe I know what all the exact answers are, but I do think the deep lying playmaker role where the guy plays a lot of sideways, and backwards passes to retain possession and largely relies on others to do the real work with the ball would have a much lower impact on winning matches in a world where that player doesn’t get to play with Messi, Neymar, Iniesta and Suarez at the same time for example.

Look I know it’s just a theory and we will never know because the balance of power will never swing enough to find out.
