Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not a chance in hell we’re going for Paqueta but Soucek is believable and as long as it was a nominal fee I wouldn’t be mad tbh.

We’d have magic at the feet of Ndiaye, Grealish and Dibling, height and something different if we needed to change it up with Soucek or Alcaraz, still feel we need some pace though.

The 50M buyout for Grealish is a fiction for risk management purposes. If we purchase it will be a negotiated amount, capped at 50M.

The 50M protects them from us paying too little if he has a great season and other clubs want him, and protects us if he has an insane season with 30 goal contributions.

Given our need for a central midfielder, right back, left back and striker it wouldn’t make any sense, plus where would he play in that 3? Who would miss out? Grealish, Illy or Tyler?
Firstly I’m just saying the rumour is believable, not that he’s on my wish list.

Secondly, if we were to sign him it should purely be as cover/plan B. Unless we’ve got something up our sleeve for someone who will walk into our midfield, I sense we’re going to be making do with a warm body for cover in this window. Assuming we address FB once Dibling is done, I’m alright with that.

I meant Paqueta

Not convinced we’ll be starting any games with practically a front “four”, but can see scenarios when we could finish them if we’re chasing a game. That looks an exciting team no two ways about it.

That midfield is getting sauntered through! Gana in for Garner is a bit more realistic, and knowing Moyes probably more likely in for KDH especially for games we don’t expect to have a lot of possession in.

Exciting front line though, for sure, and options off the bench.

I think we will start most lineups that way unless Moyes has a striker target up his sleeve. More interested in how that site thinks Gana doesn’t start for our strongest team 🤦🏻
