They aren’t going to loan him on his last year. Plus, if he has a really good year at us, someone will buy him.

His City career is finished. Both parties know it. It would take a third party to come in and offer a good transfer fee and pay the wages he wants for him to move, oh and they’d preferably be in the northwest? City just want his wages off their books and Grealish out their squad, the alternative is he sits around all year and they pay him 300k a week then he leaves for free. They could get another 12 mill from us instead for another loan.

About Soucek. I really don't understand why we would want him. The last few weeks we have been bidding/buying/loaning players like Dibling, Grealish, Fofana, KDH. All either pure quality, lots of potential or in their prime with good footballing skills. Why the hell would we be interested in a 20 mil player who has no resale value, no hidden potential and very poor footballing skills? On a free, he might be ok as a squadfiller but not worth it spending any money on imo. Hackney is supposedly also available for around 20 mil. Seems like a no brainer to me...

Clearly a Moyes transfer, I'd imagine the recruitment team aren't as keen but for a working relationship to work you need a bit of give and take

This is too much give. Should be a categorical no. Wrong player, wrong profile, wrong price. Firm no.

If we sign the attacking RB we all want then we need to sign a top class CDM to go with him
Dibling is a left footed right winger who like to cut inside
That leaves a gap for the FB to run into
Problem arises when possession is lost with both our tight sided players high up the pitch
A quick counter and we are dependent on Tarks as the right sided CB to cover
Blessed as he is with a lot of qualities pace is not one of them and I’d hate to see him go 1v1 against a pacy winger
Left side is ok because Branthwaite has the pace to manage.
I’m not sure what Dibling g is like for tracking back but at 19 he will still have a lot to learn about the game
That’s why a fast mobile physically imposing CDM is vital ( plus Gana at his age can’t play every game and then there is AFCON )
Garner is a squad player at this stage filling in gaps at RB, LB And CM
I’d like to see a proper RB a CDM and then an experienced striker on loan
Mitrovic for all his faults is a different type of striker to what we have , is PL proven and can score goals

The 50 mill release clause for Grealish was widely reported to have been inserted by City to ensure they could uphold the book-value of the player.

I will bet my left nut we are never going to pay 50 mill for a 31 year old with one year left on contract.

Think Grealish might be a little more of an asset to them than Barry was.

More of a liability (but a bigger one than Barry, yes), there's no way back for him at Citeh unless Pep leaves.

After this season, he'll have 20 million left on his player amortization, plus the wages, and the threat of losing him for nothing in 12 months. Anyone would be foolish to give them anywhere near 50 million.
