He should, it's a good trick. I'm just not sure it was that helpful this time given it literally said 50% left and 50% right!
It's psychology, and it's been let out to the media for a reason, it shows potential penalty takers he's been preparing specific for them, any doubt in their minds works to his and our advantage, and the more he saves the more it plays on their minds 'cos this is the penalty stopper specialist. The hype is worth some advantage.

Just waiting for the PL to put a stop to it any day now.

The game today could have gone in any direction. Everton or Brighton win, or draw.

What was exciting for me,was that for the first times in seasons we had threat on the counter. Brighton had to respect us breaking the play up and getting the ball forward to Grealish,Nidaye or KDH. In the past few years Brighton would have been able to camp in our half knowing the threat of the break is Harrison, Dacoure & McNeil. Now we need respect. Loved it.
No way does Garner get that shot off for the second goal without Grealish being such a threat that he draws defenders in and creates space.
If we could add a 9 that really can run off shoulders then I think we really do go up a notch.

Just to add, if Branthwaite gets fit soon, then on showing it’s Tarks who is out not Keane.

Enjoy the new dawn everyone :pint2:

Despite the disjointed team, I saw glimpses of the team and style that Moyes is trying to build today. There are number of players that showed both work rate and flair. I think Ndiaye Grealish and KDH are going to be critical to building this teams style this year. Other players like Garner Tim and Keane really stood up today and fought for their places. It was wonky at times but there is something cooking with this team. A couple more signings and some returns from injuries and our starting 11 is going to be a real threat.

18th September 2025 - With the first Merseyside Derby of the season just two days away, the Premier League has found Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford guilty of cheating. Pending an appeal from the club, he will be banned for 12 matches, starting with Everton's trip to Anfield, for which Mark Travers will now deputise in goal. Elsewhere, Florian Wirtz has escaped punishment for breaking Kyle Walker's leg during Liverpool's 5-0 win over Burnley last weekend. He'll start for the Reds on Saturday lunchtime.

Deduction aside, nothing would shock me after what happened to Niasse in November 2017.

Garner played out of position and on his weaker side and held his own against one of the better wingers in the league, he also scored a worldie. Pickford made an incredible save from O'Rielly, to save Tarkkowski's blushes, he also saved a penalty. The fact that I never even considered either of them for MOTM says all you need to know about how good Grealish was today.

Yep. I'm hopeful in a month or so we should have a smart looking, relatively well rounded team. Feels a bit like until then we get through best we can. Yes, big questions to be asked about not being prepared - still valid questions - but for the first time you saw glimpses of what we might be like this season.

An awful lot to work on but nice to be pleased with a result in August for the first season in ages.
