Loved just before the game started how the commentator referred to it as the 4th Grace on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey. Kopites and Carragher would have been squirming in their seats.

Exactly, and they had Jagz, and the commentator knew his apples, plus Carragher was complimentary enough. I didn't see anything wrong with the coverage.

If you're a Kopite and wanting that stadium covered today you ask Sky: "Just show the sewage works and the dock road and a long shot of Anfield, cheers.".

And that's what happened.

No long sweeping shots of the Mersey flowing into the Irish Sea; and one panoramic view only of the city in the background.

On the TV (SkyX with Beglin as commentator) it looked great. Could hardly see the away fans from the TV angle, which some were worried about, and the sound carried well, although I wouldn't have said it came over as much better than Goodison when it was good. Covered the pre-match well with the fireworks and were very complimentary about the facilities and location.

(Jordan Pickford in the pre-match Sky interview was being spoken to from just about where I think my Villa ticket is, so psyched to see it for a real match.)

We all should be - we're proud of the stadium aren't we and so want it's best foot being out forward?

They stated on numerous occasions how incredible the stadium is.
