Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

The football pitches in Liverpool are like sand boxes: dry, dusty and very little grass. With the season starting in two weeks...
Same down at the cricket yesterday. The square is a dust bowl ( well it does have sandy soil) and the outfield is so brown.

It's remarkable though how quickly it will green up with a bit of rain.

I'm not worried about my lawn ( which looks terrible) its the rhodis and acers that I'm concerned about.

I've come home from a lovely communion, and it's now time to throw a sausage and egg sandwich down me before we head off for our first pint.

Even though I went to a test event, I think this feeling is probably similar to a child on Christmas morning: I am full of excitement and nervousness.

As we sang this morning, "Great is thy faithfulness!" UTFT and hopefully a few pints in town beforehand will help calm the nerves.

Good morning all. Yesterday at Redcar was a really fun day. We did OK at the races- three winners and a place. It was wild in the beach area. The wind howling in off the North Sea. The first leg of the frisbee/boules/crazy golf triathlon had to be abandoned after a gusts of wind got the frisbee and it nearly took poor Frankie out! Fish and chips was a huge success although Charlotte insisted on eating in the car due to potential seagull attack! Mr F braved the wind and the gulls and sat on the sea wall.
Here's a couple of wave pics.

The cover up of the Genocide in Palestine is sickening. That those who dare speak are labelled as Anti-Semites is enraging. There is no difference in shooting people queuing for food than leading them into a gas chamber.
Yeah it's pretty disgusting really. The more I think about it the more proud I am of the girls for both standing up for what they believe and showing solidarity with other acts. Plus the backlash could have been worse.

Anyway let's lighten the mood. Not sure whether you looked for that Pukkelpop video but don't bother as it's been taken down. Here's one of the girls having a bit of fun performing their latest single taken from the same stream.

Enjoy your day today AT. Let's hope for a win to crown it off. ;)

Hello everybody. I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. What a difference a win makes!
We've had a lovely trip to Raby Castle ( home of the 12th Lord Barnard) harvest market where, to my joy, my favourite toffee vodka was on sale. A bottle has been duly purchased. I also bought some apple crumble shortbread and a knitted stingray for Frankie. Here's a pic of the back of the castle that we took on the way out.1000009985.webp

Well enjoying a celebratory cider sat outside, listening to good music and about to switch the BBQ on. May even get a chance to eat Al fresco as the sun is threatening to come out. Yes, despite the rest of the country, and indeed Cornwall, being basked in sunshine, Mawnan Smith is once more basked in low cloud, as it was yesterday.

Anyway enjoy the day. So pleased for everyone who was able to attend this memorable day.
