New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

It’s hosting a Rugby League international in November
Bits and pieces...unless you're telling me this is is not a proper football stadium and 'multi-purpose'?

All stadiums diversify now. They are still essentially football stadiums though and other events come to the home of the football club and acknowledge that fact.

Some people seem all too willing to be spoon-fed this corporate medicine and allow them to try and marginalise us in our own home.

The club wont stop this corporate expansion and claim over our new home, the fans will though.

Great work they do. Another Everton first.

Makes you think though, 200 years ago there'd have been people getting off ships down there dressed in rags and starving and looking for a new life in this country and getting no further than the (Vauxhall) district they landed in.

Now here we are needing to feed and dress the modern poor.

It's an utter disgrace.

There is a contrast and contradiction to lids volunteering to collect what we all have in the back of the cupboards and then going through another door and being changed and paying £7 for a hotdog (metaphorically). A reflection point maybe.

We probably need to do more to promote the food bank on here - its a huge community on here and if everyone picked up an extra three tins or so or the like a week and brought it to the game it would make a huge difference.

Quite right too mate.

All churches have drop-off ares and people should use them.

Having a functioning welfare state would be better like.

It's a football stadium full stop. Yes, it can host concerts and rugby league, but it was specifically designed to have steep stands that bring the fans as close to the pitch as possible to generate a claustrophobic atmosphere. That wasn't done for Taylor Swift.

The lack of Everton branding is a deliberate and suspect decision. The stadium looks magnificent, but it's not moaning to point out the roof is currently unsightly and you wouldn't know that the team who plays in, who nearly went out of business building it, plays in blue.

Depends on your position on the lack of a roof screed.

If you find yourself among like-minded people, share not only your name but that of a local painting and decorating operation that can be forwarded by one of your new neighbours to the nearest stadium steward.

They'll love you for it and you'll immediately feel at home.
I’m not making eye contact with anyone who thinks the screed situation is acceptable. You can spot them a mile off. I will carry the grudge forward for decades

Exactly right.

It's a big draw for events precisely because it's spacious, yes, but also because it is the home of a well known football club. They get 'brand boost' off that.

We'll get there in the end to a point where Evertonisation creeps incrementally onto and into the stadium, but it'll need a fight for it to happen because these officers employed by TFG are there merely to resist that tribal claim on the facility.
