Reckon it's to get him used to match days around the seniors? So that when they do play him in a few weeks (I think he's 16 later this year) it's not some huge leap into the unknown.

Leeds already not pressing anywhere near as much as they were against us. So irritating that we had that as our first game, the depleted squad and the first game back home energy on a Monday night influenced things too much.

A team just simply cant keep up that energy, its draining. Even more so a team that does not have squad depth. If they try and keep it up for the first half of the season, they will be so exhausted and injured in the second half they may not win a match. Its very typical to see teams that over emphasize work rate(with thin squads) dying in the second half.
