Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Agree need a DM hopefully .
Definitely a right back and use the loans.
Personally I wouldn't mind another right sided players to offer a bit of an alternative
to Dibling if we get him.
Just to take the pressure off him and let him settle in.
Think another forward would go amiss either if we could get hold of one.
Beto and Barry a bit to alike, (havnt seen enough of Barry to really judge to be honest )
But it would be nice to have a different dimension up front .
We're going to get the Moyes-mix-up, he'll rotate Illy, Dibling, McNeil, Grealish, Alcaraz, and sometimes Garner. It'll be like the sexy total football freedom of the famous Dutch national side. He's done it before, the interplay between Fellaini, Cahill, Arteta, Osman, Pienaar. That confidence in each other and the ability to capitalise when a side is on the run. It's getting them to know each others game and then trust to deliver. It's why such a strong defence is important, they've the chance to learn the role, to believe in taking the risks and trying something none homogenised.

We'll have bad days at the office, we'll have some moments of pure footy silk, it's going to be an interesting season, and by backing Moyes as far as they have (which he earned with the harder half of the season to deliver in) it shows TFG are prepared to roll the dice and back the vision of the man they chose to take us forwards.

We build the history of BMD from here, with a bit of hope and a bit of steel.

Absolutely. Even if we get Dibling over the line, that’s still only one right winger on the books. Another would be perfect, especially if it’s someone with a few more miles on the clock who can help us bring Tyler through a little more gently to help him reach his potential without burning him out in the process.

A RB would be great; I suspect we might see a CB instead so Moyes can continue with JOB at right back. I would prefer to see a specialist fullback come in that can pay either side, something like Ashley Young but 15 years ago 😜

Other than that, a different profile of striker so we have an option to not start Beto if he’s not bang on form and can still ease Barry in; Chermitti needs a loan if he’s going to ever develop into a prem striker. Personally, not sure he will but with a loan and a bit more development I don’t think we’ll lose money on him.

The empty vessel(s) make the most noise.

There's reds and worse on looking to stoke up a mutiny, and Moyes keeps having them all off. It's the faith, 'cos he's a man of principle, he isn't an allardyce or a benitez, or some shyster like koeman, dedication to the job at hand. keeps delivering.

That's what the naysayers hate. Ali was written off countless times, what a legacy he left, and had the pants down of all his enemies.

Ah well, we go with what we get.

another right winger
a rb
a cb
a versatile mid 20's Ashley Young
and a striker.

I see.

We've done good business this window but in typical everton fashion it's just been slow. We desperately need a right back, dunno why but I've always been a fan of Lamptey who seems available and cheap and potentially off to Fiorentina. Could restart his career here. I'm hoping we put a bid in.
Lamptey has his positive attributes but he's not suited to play in a back 4 he's 5'4 we don't really utilize wingbacks unless someone is injured

Nope. I said I would like another RW. Also said I would like a RB, but that I thought we might get a CB instead. I then stated that my preference would be for a fullback that could play either side, and that ideally we might sign another striker of a different profile to those we have at our disposal.

I only intended to state my opinions on the 3 positions; not that I thought we would sign all of them. The absolute most I think we would possibly sign (loans included) for the rest of the window would be defensive mid, either fullback or centre back depending on what Moyes see JOB doing this season and a striker. I would love another right winger, but I don’t know how much of a priority the club will give that given the outlay on Dibling (assuming he signs) and that we’ve played 3 season or something ridiculous without even one.

I think we’re putting together a team full of players

Probably we need a RB and CM and that shouldn’t be mad difficult

However, you now need a manager who has the guts to go a bit more attacking and also the team need to be coached to support each other on the ball

For example I would play Aznou and give him licence and let the 3 centre backs cover him. Moyes mark 1 refused to play Baines and Coleman for long time, let’s see if the Leopard has changed his spots.

Don’t forget a striker.

People are scoffing at Vardy but he’s a goal scorer… albeit an old one now
A really quite old one given he relied on his acceleration when playing off the shoulder, especially given his oft proclaimed diet of skittles vodka. Can’t imagine that’s left much in the tank.

Plus he’d likely ask for a massive bag of cash. Wouldn’t go for it myself, although even a year or two ago I would have thought he’d be a decent option
