2025/26 David Moyes

Yup but as a club we proudly proclaimed it, was embarrassing at the time and still is now. It's the summary of the blue bill and Moyes era in a nutshell
doesn't a magnificent seventh likely guarantee some of that sexy samba european soccer nowadays?

one of them stumbling blocks to signing them elite super athletes?

Baggio or Bust!

Here's a mad idea Davey. You and the recruitment team do your scouting and homework properly and go for the right players instead of wasting an entire transfer window and then cry assing that they don't want to come. Incompetence by all of you and you are making us look like tits.

next season, next season? what about right now?

Moyes has been called every flavour of dirty rat in the past few days and suddenly long term target has been landed on a Friday night for what could go onto be a club record transfer fee.

No! No! No! That's enough, we've all had it, not good enough, p45 time and let's get martin jol.

Not called for Moyes to be sacked once mate.
Need to check the Dibling thread which has exploded - assuming something broke.

Do you mind me asking what evidence do you have that it's David Moyes' personal failings that has been behind this disastrous transfer window?

No need to make things up mate. Nowhere did i say Moyes personal failings. I said 'Moyes and the recruitment team' unless of course you don't think that Moyes has any interaction with them for the players that he wants. They all share some responsibility for the failings.

The European footy thing is bs outside the CL mate and we all know it, doubt lads are signing due to the exposure they'll receive at an away game at FC Sturm Graz
gotta make our minds up, either everything Moyes says is gospel and we all feint and quiver on his every word, or we acknowledge that he'll operate how he sees fit and we are all along for the ride as long as we can take it.

cake and eat it to.

Moyes I can almost guarantee has been read the riot act after that outburst in the USA - no chance whatsoever Friedkin will regard that as acceptable behaviour from an employee.

One thing TFG is are very professional and very corporate in the way they behave. Moyes actions went against both those.

It's weirdly enough both my biggest worry about TFG a d my biggest comfort having them in charge.

We will be ran as a professional organisation soon enough, but also we will be ran as a company not as a vanity project.

They will ensure that the mistakes of the past don't reoccur, whilst investing to make the company successful they will always have an eye on it being sustainable and won't take gambles. They'll never do a forest owners or a Chelsea one. But they'll never do a moshiri either....

Dunno if that makes sense to you.

I think this is pretty clear and as a corporate US entity they will expect to be run as a team pushing the same corporate messages.

They wont want anyone going rogue.

One thing I did like him saying today was that we definitely do have money to spend.

If the window shuts and we haven't spent any more then we know any PSR/low funds related PR bull the club might try spin is nonsense.

How much do you reckon they have in the pot? Weve done circa £130mil at this point before add ons.

What's unprofessional about saying players have turned us down because we're not in Europe?

Think a lot of you are just too sensitive tbh.

Saying that players have turned Everton down.

Is it A: Positive? Does it enhance the reputation and club image?

B: Effective? Does it help in any way to attract players?

C: Negative. A pointless message.

In addition, saying the club are a way down lists of players isnt going to make anyone feel like theyre special and one of the main club targets.

Surely its best for players to think theyre a key signing rather than 8th pick?

I dont think Moyes has done or said anything unprofessional. If things behind the scenes aren't good enough then why should he not speak out?

Moyes is trying to increase standards across the club and its well overdue. Average performance shouldn't be accepted any more, and everyone should be accountable for their performance. Managers will always be accountable based on results but everyone else at the club needs to be performing too.

How is stating that the club is failing to attract players, increasing standards?

Whats the goal there & telling the world Everton have money to spend?

Yup the comparison is nonsense I agree, as you went from Kate moss to Kathy burke mate.

Fellows is a championship standard player - widely known to be available for around 8-10m for a year, and not even other championship clubs went for him. Fofana is being thought over by the likes of the rs, Bayern etc.

However if you regard yourself as a great player are you gonna then sign onto a team that literally has a manager saying yeah he's ok.
since you said all that about nightclubs it sounds like we’ve agreed a fee to sign one of the most exciting young wingers in the country so clearly Moyes and his team know a thing or two more than we do about how to sign good players

I argued for retaining Thelwell - you do that I know for a fact Purdy doesn't walk.

I argued against Moyes and fir potter last season - as those were the only two names - yeah potter would have been an awful choice but Moyes should have been

I know 100% he cancelled the lad from Lyon who we'd arranged to buy for 20m

The sense I get, if TFG wanted 2 experienced heads at Roma/Everton. And would want to utilise their expertise in the medium term. But that may not be as manager in each case.
