Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It's not why he signed though, is it?

Personally, I find it embarrassing the way the club have briefed all the new signings to mention the stadium. As others have said, in order of importance when signing for a new club:

1. Money
2. Trophies
3. European football
4. Minutes on the pitch

53. The box you play your footie in.
You still have 48 bullet points to fill out there so don't be lazy now

For me all this i want to play in Europe is a bit of a nonsense, there's only so many teams that are actually going to go far in the comps most are just also rans and you'll get max 3 or 4 games for the rest. Most players we've been after are not at the standard the top European teams are chasing so for the sake of a couple of european games players are ignoring decent moves. I know I'm probably biased but some players need a big dose of realism rather than the fantasy being pedalled by their agents.

Everton have contacted Villarreal over Karl Etta Eyong. The player wants to stay at Villarreal but if he is told that he won't play he wouldn't be opposed to moving to the Premier League

Agents are why so many deals are done late, they have no incentive to help clubs, or in a lot of cases their own players, it's just about maximising the cash and engineering moves that often comes when both teams involved start getting desperate. They'll tell their players to hold on unless it's a ridiculous offer as that's what suits them best.

The only exception is if it's clearly a huge upgrade for the player and they push for it.

I feel like the solution to Barry being too young and too raw probably isn't to sign his younger, rawer, understudy.

You can also buy 4 for the price of 1 Dibling, and if your scouting isn't awful you just need an ok hit rate for it to pay off. Everything is a gamble, but we're clearly not in a position to take players from champions league clubs outside of England. So what's the alternative?
So we get 4 Chermiti or Aznou types. Cosmic,
