Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Proper sick of moyes cryarsing now.

If your targets aren’t interested or want Europe then move on to another target, you surely should have a shortlist/longlist of suitable players per positions ffs, or have we got zero idea of what the feck we are doing…..

We are down to "Z" I think mate. And Hammond has had a negative reply off Zico because he wanted to bring his aide "Zimmer" and Hammond reckoned it would be too expensive as a package deal for both of them...ffs

Yeah, it's fine if its in house but telling the world and more importantly our fans that we're not very special and nobody any good wants to play for our team in a season of our 'new era' is just so miserable.
Not meant as having a go at Moyes, but having Ancelotti now, coupled with our brand new shiny stadium, would have made recruitment so much easier. Well, imo at least.

Tbf on him, for the last couple of years in management, he’s probably only looked at players who wanted to play in Europe as he’s had Europe to sell.
Meanwhile the rest of the committee have been selling the Championship so perhaps there is a knowledge gap in the committee

He said exactly that… they are working down the list.

We’re just gonna end up with lower quality players.

It's why the argument that our new stadium would somehow attract new players was bunkum.
Not sure any sane individual ever suspected otherwise.

Nice to daydream about a shiny mass of concrete and steel attracting world class players but its tbe adage of being able to polish a turd.

Turn the turd into an attractive project with prospects like Forest for example and the ground is a bit more of a pull. But only slightly. Sorry if the reality check hurts but is what it is !

It's just this thread that people lose their sanity.

We have signed some decent players believe it or not, but the right hand side of the team need surgery and there are other holes. Also it hasn't helped with a new dawn, elite players for an elite stadium, people need to blow off steam now an again don't take it so seriously ignore them if we/ they are doing you're head in.

All you do is wait for someone to score in a match and then post their name in here. You haven’t got a clue who’s actually good or not.
oh really, so my enciso shout over a year ago was after i saw him score in a game was it?

20 mil and just joined chelsea, scored a banger against us

potential level through the roof

Slap him up some more RR, don't stand for him patronising you like that in front of everyone.

So Moyes says there is money to spend.

For sure there is. There will be a pot of £150mil+ to use.

Moyes was pretty adamant that we have the funds, we just haven't been able to land the desired targets due to largely a preference from the players towards playing in Europe. Which I comprehend but that's where clever recruitment plays a role , identifying players who have skills to reach the upper tiers of the game but aren't there, not easy of course.

To me it sounded like he wanted ready made experienced players like Travers, King, KDH and Grealish. Simply because he wants his 2 year deal to be extended when he hits a top 10 league position.

Then hes throwing around european qualification as if he will achieve that by spending massive sums for short term success....and suggesting at that point the club becomes attractive.

Previously he was claiming a new stadium and being Everton was enough.

Then he blamed his colleagues. When hes been told off hes now found another excuse.

Im tired of his passing the blame and excuses. Hes failed at recruitment at every single club since leaving.

If people think Dibbling is the answer, he isn’t. He’s exactly what Barry is, not ready.

He’s not what we need right now and this isn’t football manager.

Way too raw like Barry. Squads so under cooked and imbalanced we can’t afford to nurture talent.

Whether you like it or not we have a manager who will be under pressure this season; due to the lack of squad calibre and most notably squad depth.

He isn’t playing 19 year old potentials. They will come from the bench when and only when he’s happy to do so.

What world do you live in where we have been hamstrung by FFP for the last several years that going out and spending 50m on an unproven (albeit potentially high level) 19 year old seems a wise move.

Everyone assuming he turns out world class? What happens if he doesn’t. 50m down the…

Transfers need to be a lot smarter. Would not surprise me at all to see Barry out on loan next season.

Dibling started 20 games for Southampton last season. He also was a sub in 13.

He's very different to Barry. For example, Dibling has both English youth international and premier league experience.

Barry does not, though he has done well at his former clubs since leaving France. Also netting double figures in Spain.

Aznou had half a season with incredible stats in a poor team and is very highly rated.

These are all assets. Signing 'ready made' players such as KDH doesnt push the team on into european contention.

He's a mid table player who will become a squad player in 2 years time unless he dramatically improves.

Signing young players who can become top level performers is the only way for this club to improve year on year as they develop and realise their potential.

It sounds like you want more Grealish and KDH types for short term league placing. This i think is a mistake and severely damages the PSR factor.

Can’t really believe he said they tried for top players but couldn’t get them so would be coming down a level for lads who could do a job to keep us steady in the prem.

I like Moyes but for gods sake someone get him some media training. People would absolutely blow an artery on here if Dyche said the opposition were a good outfit but Moyes is out there telling potential recruits that they’re on a lower tier to what he wants?

Hes sabotaging the clubs image to reinforce himself and play to the fans.

Very poor.

Sitting here today, the new stadium doesn't hurt our ability to sign new players, I'd say.

But importantly, it's the flywheel effect it could create though the generation of the higher revenues which should strengthen our PSR position which should mean we can spend more on players and wages which should result in us finishing higher to the league... All v.obvious I know, but stepping back a bit, the stadium can and will have a positive impact on our ability to attract new players.
