Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Incredibly baffling comments in the press conference.

Moyes made it appear like there are substantial funds available, just that our top choices want Europe and have rejected us.

Well we've had 2 months to move onto second, third and fourth choices... this is a monumental failure by the club to not bring in anybody on that right hand side.

Then he says he feels like there has been progress this week, then a few minutes later says it doesn't mean we'll actually bring anybody in though.

Madness.

Vinny O Connor is a right club lackey as well

we simply face the same recruitment problems next summer if Europe is such a major factor in players wanting to play here and it will be the same arguments, same excuses etc all over again.
And that's what they are: excuses.

If these obstacles are insurmountable for the current people highly paid to find solutions, then we need new people in those positions.

It’s why I keep saying we should look to win one of the cups, break that ridiculous trophy drought and win, get into Europe. If Crystal Palace can win a trophy why can’t Everton.

If you honestly think the biggest differentiator between us and Chelsea is that they're going to be in Europe this season then I don't really know what to say. Players want to play in the Champions League for the biggest clubs, everybody knows that, but 'Europe'? It's maybe a slight consideration but I very much doubt it's a key point for the vast majority of players, and it's the job of the recruitment team to ensure that any player we speak to goes away with no doubt in their mind that playing half a dozen games in European backwaters for Forest or someone will be no substitute for what they can do if they come here, it's hardly asking a lot for them to sell the club to that extent.
Speaking of Chelsea.

It is clear now they have developed a model of buying young players and selling them on for a profit very quickly. They have sold a player today, made 14m profit on him and he only played once in the twelve months he spent at the club which is remarkable.

That is what lots of money and a high profile can do for you.

We have a long way to get there , years rather than months.

This year the aim is to be a solid top half of the table team from the start and never get mentioned in relegation debates.

….which makes me think he’s a ‘manufactured Evertonian’ as opposed to being ‘born a blue’. He says he had Ray Wilkins bedroom curtains growing up. I can’t see any Evertonian not celebrating an injury time winner at Forest, I’d have been chuffed if Thelwell came on & scored it

Anyway, he’s one of ours now is Zat.

“one of yours mate”

no proper fan doesn’t celebrate a winner in the last min

he’s plastic

Moyes will find a reason.

"We need to keep players fit for the league".

The longer this farce of a summer drags on, the more it is clear we need to sack the lot of them and start again.

We will bring players in , we have to because on numbers alone this current squad gets relegated.

The big question is how much will we panic and how will any ill advised purchases hurt us going forward.

Conceicou (sp?)
Forfana
Dibbling
Bakayoko

We have completed at least levels 1-4 already on the RW game. How low do you go?

To be honest, Moyes is naturally cautious, but also honest. My interpretation of what was said, is that there has been some progress with Dibling, but we shouldn't be expecting quality players coming in after that. Expect those Brownhill type signings after the main one (not necessarily Brownhill himself).

Just my interpretation.

I don’t understand it personally , aiming to win things should be exciting, a positive.

The press conference had a weird vibe about it, like it was more controlled than usual.
