Everton have NEVER done quick business, I don’t know why I expected any different.

Also, we haven’t started well in the Prem for years (especially under Moyes)…

Basically… I’m very much in the “Don’t panic” camp

Yep, we all hope one day we will do it and be straight out of the blocks…

But we keep dreaming.

If Barry is supposedly "raw", what does that make Beto?

Raw yet somewhat effective at times?. For what it's worth if he could get 13 league goals this season that's not terrible. He's far from being one of our worst striker purchases which in itself isn't good. Goals get you up the league. If you haven't got a Haaland or Isak or Salah you need a few chipping in with decent totals. Guess a lot will depend on Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall and Grealish although I don't think the last 2 have ever got big figures have they? Probably think McNeil probably has the most potential for goals after Ndiaye and Beto but people are saying he's not going to be a starter much

Moyes was pretty adamant that we have the funds, we just haven't been able to land the desired targets due to largely a preference from the players towards playing in Europe. Which I comprehend but that's where clever recruitment plays a role , identifying players who have skills to reach the upper tiers of the game but aren't there, not easy of course.

This is the exact sort of signing we should be all over if Moyes wasn't obsessed with Prem experience and short-termism. Perfect high-upside gamble for a Gana replacement.
