Leighton Baines
John Heitinga
Phil Jagielka
Sylvain Distin
Seamus Coleman

They were great.

All of them except Hibbert, who wouldn’t be a Premier League player if he were around today.

Baines walks into any Everton team in history in my opinion. Best LB to ever grace the royal blue.

Would never have got in the team when we has Ray Wilson mate, he was far, far better, even though Bainsey was brilliant.

Agreed, except having 2013/14 Coleman instead would make it even better.

It depends on my mood if I would pick Van Den Hauwe or Baines - both top tier performers who'd be welcome to step into a time machine and come play now if they could.

Baines shades it over VdH for me. Also Pat would be a walking red card these days.

Good point, Baines is a modern game ready player and would go a huge way to sorting this whole 2025/26 squad out. Him and Coleman would sort out the glaring full back deficiency to perfection.
