I don’t rate him in the transfer market either but I don’t think he’ll be the one doing the negotiating

No , but presumably he is helping to identify the players he wants and has a part in persuading them join .
In both cases we are failing.
He can’t escape some responsibility, in fact him grumbling openly rather than privately is more likely to have damaged our prospects.

He’s usually good on the transfer stuff but that’s a load of rubbish, Arsenal just proved it by signing Eze in the less than 24 hours.

They hijacked another clubs deal and we aren't remotely in Arsenal's league in terms of pull or money. It's a laughable comparison.
