Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

He was not fired though, his contract ran out. While that may seem like semantics, given that his contract expired he would need a new one (that he would need to agree to). 3 years? 4 years? Who knows. But I think it's a bit too simple to just say he should have been retained.
Right, it seemed he was eager to stay on, so it seemed TFGs choice or not to retain him. While I think that argument that we dont know what contract he was negotiating has merit, TFG have shown a willingness to fire someone after any period of time. And I cant imagine his extra contract cost more than 1 league place, a potential cost of messing up the window.

Get yourself some sweet oil well ownership like these

and pump the lot into Everton.

Fixed. Easy.

Which oil state owns Sunderland?

Rumours went around that he wanted to leave and others said he wanted to stay. I would presume Kinnear had a big influence during his interview process. Moyes probably also had some input on this too. I personally think it is a big ask for a whole new team to come in get the players we want over the line with really no prior experience here last season. I think a DOF and manager is enough. They will differ but when you have 4? on a committee it will be near impossible to agree quickly.
