Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They are an absolute nothing team in Japan.

A link up with Urawa Reds or FC Tokyo would have been interesting.
I’d never heard of them but their average attendance was over 30k last year (3rd highest in Japan and higher than 7 Premier League clubs), they’re owned by Toyota and have a 45k capacity stadium. They don’t appear to be complete minnows like.

It is notable that none of the usually more reliable mainstream guys who cover us (Boyland, Joyce, Hunter) mentioned Ake. Not even Romano went there, only The Mail. None of them have said we have reengaged on Dibling for that matter. It might mean something or nothing but both those stories have been pushed by Bobble but not really picked up by others. It is also notable there are no names for RW, RB mentioned in Bould’s rebuttal of Ake. That does suggest the more official club routes (media team, executives, manager) have adopted silent running.

A player doesn’t care if it’s funds up front or instalments. The argument was European football or the lure of Milan to entice players.

AFCB have neither
That's how deals are concluded 😂 if you can't get a prospective players club to approve the transfer it doesn't mean anything if the player is interested. You don't think various clubs are vying for the same player? So being able to complete a deal at the desired price makes those moves more feasible. Also even without Europe if the transfer looks viable it gives the buying club an opportunity to convince a player who might be reticent and sell them the vision of the club

Must admit, I'm starting to worry we don't have the capacity/bandwidth to spend what we need.

I felt perhaps we'd sell Branthwaite to allow it - after he renewed, I figured some PSR/sponsorship shenanigans must be in place.

Surely we're not skint, again?
In a way, 'The Dibling Money' is the new 'Arteta Money' if it's not spent.
