Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

knowing how out of touch the front office is, it wouldn't surprise me
Moyes bases his valuations on GOT posts. There isn't a player in world football worth over £15m and nobody deserves more than £50k a week. They'll accept those bids and the players will thank us for those wages because everyone wants to play for Everton. Right? Right.

Finally, some pace in the team.

Defo been there mate. Once I had kids I just started watching fewer games and engaging less with Everton news online and stuff. Couldn’t keep subjecting them to me being an arl grump of a weekend.

Still stings to see us lose/play crap now, but a few deep breaths and a couple of “it’s only a game”s later I’m usually back down to earth.

Funny old game, innit? Look after yourself mucker.
I'd learned to take my dog on a walk after every match no matter the outcome. Instantly felt better. He passed this past May. Going to need another dog.

Gotta do what's right for you brother. What was the team?
Ok, dont hate...it was Citeh...when i grew up, they were the " small team" in their city, just like us. Saw them at Wembley in the Full Members Cup once so always had a bit of a soft spot. Loved it when they pushed United off their perch and obviously it had to be a team big enough to [Poor language removed] my brothers who support the RS.

Scratching around because we have been waiting so long to make a decision on who to spend on! Utterly awful. So much for waiting to drive prices down, its no good if you are throwing games away and are left with dross!

All this talk of lack of budget/ possible spending concerns due to PSR etc, is exactly why I’ve peddled for the last few days the need to sell a few players.

Yes squad is thin but I do believe a couple of dispensable player sales could help boost the remaining budget.

Beto, McNeil could raise what, 40+ ish mill?

If that meant our remaining budget went from say 40 to 80 million id take it if that meant we secured 3-4 players of a better calibre…
Moyes clearly doesn't fancy McNeil at all, for some reason. I'm surprised we haven't seen any rumours of him departing. I can't see us selling Beto, given our forward options but this is Everton so anything is possible.

….somebody suggested Aznou is injured. I haven’t heard this officially but it makes sense given he was substituted after coming on against Roma.

Had Garner played in midfield and James given a free ride, Leeds might have been out of sight at half-time. As it was, Garner filled-in very well and nullified the threat of James.

I’m struggling to see what Moyes did wrong on this and why posters are so angry.

Playing Gana and Iroebugnum together killed any chance to progress the ball up the pitch. Garner is right footed, he receives the ball on the left side and he's naturally facing the center of the field. His options there are Gana, Iroebugnum, Keane and Pickford. None of those guys are passing the ball to the attacker without booting it. KDH was pushed further back in the midfield in the 2nd half and it was better, but even then we didn't need three in the midfield. Just one that could receive and progress the ball up the pitch.

KDH should have started where Iroebugnum did, and if we're not starting Grealish (which makes sense given his lack of pre-season) then you put McNeil in one of those spots.

As it was, our outlet for the first half was long balls to our RB. That doesn't seem like a winning formula.
