I know what you mean but a lot of sides appear to be doing alot of selling that makes their net spend alot lower than it looks, Liverpool have spent around £300 million but sold 180m's worth so net spend £120m but as some of those like Doak are academy and that's pure profit. Chelsea have spent £240m, sold £205m. Even Forest have so far spent £147 but sold £100m. If you consider then wages are already accounted for and you offload some big earners as well then they really aren't spending that much.... we just don't have a raft of players to sell to offset spend.
Meanwhile Bournemouth have sold 200m but spent only 86m giving them loads of wiggle room. The problem clubs are the likes of Burney who's net spend is £70m, Sunderland £100m - and that could bite them in the ass, Even Arsenal are playing a dangerous game sold pretty much no-one but spent nearly £200m
