Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The bubble of optimism (new start, new ground, new owners) has been well and truly burst.
Given that our squad weaknesses are long-standing, nobody expected us to start the season without key signings.

Same old story.

This has added to the frustration, in my opinion.

To paraphrase TS Eliot : “August is the cruellest month”
a win against brighton in the new stadium would probably quell a lot of the angst tbh

it wouldn't cure it but would certainly make things look less bleak especially if its a good performance

Well bits are more than likely going on behind the scenes that's being kept under wraps.

Lets put it this way... every man and his dog knows we're woefully short so the likelihood of nothing happening is pretty low.

Well that's how I perceive it any road.
It’s the nerves isn’t it. Every reported link is treated as gospel, even though we all now the majority are just lazy column fillers. And when there is a 3 hour spell will no reported links it’s “I can’t believe Angus is not looking at any players at all and we are going with what we’ve got against. Should have gone with Josh, at least he had a hat.”

I did think this morning it would poor if there was no solid movement today after Mondays debacle, but then realised buying any old skank just to placate me for 24 hours is probably not the way to go.

But surely, as we were led to believe by many on here, that anyone we are buying at the back end of the window is not 'any old skank' but a meticulously planned strategy!

These are our A list transfer targets and we had to wait for all moving parts to be completed before signing!

They will be waltzing through the door any minute now and you have no need to worry!

💯 mate

The Benj gets some stick on here but wouldn’t surprise me if what he’s saying about the committee is correct. I’m not sure how this model was ever going to work with how difficult Moyes has historically been to work with when it comes to transfers.
Fair point , counter point it wouldn’t surprise me if he was wrong and fuming because a senior employee of the football club we love called him out and him and his mate have had to hide behind his patreon to continue earning money for the odd grain of truth surrounded by rehashed stories and complete BS

So Moyes is going to be the patsy for the recruitment issues this summer.

Laughing at how people are being jedi mind tricked into thinking Moyes isn't part of recruitment.

‘The Club will transition from a single Director of Football to a wider sporting leadership team. Planning for the summer transfer window is already under way, led by the sporting department and David Moyes, and senior appointments will be announced in due course’

Know much about this guy? Can't find any details of him online. Out the blue. Leaks must've been plugged.

Hahahaha how things have changed in a week
Think it's a fair comment like his nose has been put out of joint. But tbh I think a few people are starting to wonder whether Moyes is the issue.

Personal opinion I think the manager should just be a head coach and not be able to veto players without exceptional reasons.

This window appears to be a special case whilst systems are put in place for the future, hence Moyes had more say.

Grealish was a cherry on the cake player, before they baked the cake.

Feel like they thought we should all be ecstatic with their premium loan they have pulled off. While Forest go about signing a load of players we actually should have prioritised.
I think there was to be honest. I don’t blame fans getting excited at the fact a top quality player (at his best) arrived but at the same time there was not a lot of room for reasoned debate around the time he joined.

Strategy is all important when building a squad, and you can tell we don’t have one by the fact that we went after Kenny Tete right out of the blocks and have been nowhere near another right back ever since.

Tone Deaf FC aren't we?

Imagine posting a photo like that when our transfer window has been widely ridiculed—unreal!

The fact that we're celebrating a partnership in such a way that likely pays per year what Grealish earns per week is hilarious. Small time.
