Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Anyone coming in now is too late for Sunday but they could be introduced on the pitch before the game for a bit of a lift.... Would have to be significant signings though not Mikes fella and Vardy...

It’s not raising concerns it’s out and out catastrophising. Today’s shouts already include the idea we have run out of money and fumes about no links despite the manager openly clamping down on leaks from the club.

In a Hollywood film they’d be slapped around the face and told to get a grip

Not forgetting the new and emerging conspiracy theory on here, that Dickie Masters and the Premier League are conspiring to keep at least one of the newly promoted teams up this season, at the expense of one of the long established plodders in the league ( us )

Bored and curious this morning about how limited we're being with Moyes wanting prem experience for a new centre mid (and generally wanting it in new players).

Arguably the prem clubs that have most overperformed compared to their budget/history/profile in recent years are Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford. Had a look for all signings they've made since 2021 that have had at least 2000 minutes of prem experience.

This is the whole list:

Ben Mee (free)
Eriksen (free)
Milner (free)
Tyler Adams (23m)

And that's it. Finding value in 'prem experience' is nearly impossible unless you have the finances to just pluck the best of the league, which we don't. I don't think Moyes tactics are anything like as old fashioned as some people think, but he feels sooo out of touch in this regard.

That Leeds game in front of a global audience has shattered the positive optics of the season end.

Truth is, Branthwaite and Mykolenko play then a decent chance we get a better result.

But we need a RW to even field a decent 1st team, injuries aside. Then with injuries our patched up team looks inadequate.

Not like we conceded from open play. I don't think those mentioned improve our "xG" any. Our attacking play was awful, ineffective and disjointed. Two defenders unlikely to have affected that. Agree the squad looks inadequate though.

Gnonto and James looked dangerous for Leeds and they’re two players who a lot on here would turn their nose up at but you cannot beat a bit of pace out wide, it forces mistakes from the opposition defence and has them sitting a few yards deeper. Their defence just went tight to Ndiaye and Alcaraz because they knew they would be going backwards or infield with their first touches.

I think as mentioned previously. Everyone working at Everton has had a bollocking this week and warned about letting slip about transfers. It's gone from daily rumours to completely zero since Moyes said it in his press conference!!

Either that, or were actually not signing anyone! 🤣
Probably the latter
