Other Clubs Transfer Window 2025-2026.

Isak's statement tonight after pissing off the Saudis.

This is where I lose total sympathy with modern footballers. He signs a big money long term deal and whenever another club he fancies a move to comes along pretty much demands a move. I expect Newcastle will end up cutting their losses and selling him, but it would be nice if there were some consequences for players for not fulfilling their side of a contract. They take plenty of time to decide on signing for a club and squeeze all they can from clubs who have no guarantee that the player will deliver on the pitch, they should be held accountable in a situation like this when they are doing their best to force a deal through. Add to that when the club the player is contracted to makes it clear the player is wanted by them to see out his contract, the team that are trying to sign the player should step away and not be giving the player any encouragement to go so far as downing tools and not playing, which is basically what Isak is doing now.

The only promise that counts is the contract that he has signed.

I think Newcastle have rightly or wrongly handled this badly. This will put off players joining them now.
Dunno.
Has Isak put in a formal transfer request? If not, then he needs to shut up and honour his contract.
If he wants to move that badly then he can forgo any loyalty payments etc.

I think this is something that needs to be addressed by the authorities somehow. Newcastle owners are rich enough to sit him in the reserves and pay his wages but PSR means they can't. If they could write off PSR complications they could just hold him until his contract is up but not play him.

Him and Wissa have behaved dreadfully. Eze and Guehi on the other hand (and Dibling I suppose) are showing how to behave in these circumstances.

Can state owned clubs, particularly petroleum producers with limitless resources, actually experience losses?
