Non League Football

Thornton Cleveleys v Steeton today, early season top of table clash both sides unbeaten.

Thornton just signed a player making his debut today called Josh Taylor, ex Stockport county and Fleetwood town, local lad only 21 years old.

Hoping for the great start to the season continuing 💪

5-1 Maghull, and top of the league to boot!

What a start!

1300 odd at Marine, to witness Marine score a 96th minute winner against playoff candidates Buxton.

Pandemonium at the end. Exactly what non-League is all about.

How brillant was that today eh Barney!

There was a few contentious moments that made it all the sweeter. I always stand as close to the half way line as I can, but get on the crossender side of it so the liner doesn't block any views, and I'm convinced there was foul about 10 yards away from me in the build up to their goal. Everybody seen it, but I had a great view of it and first instinct was that it was a foul. Of course, I might see a replay of it and change my mind, it wasn't the clearest foul ever, but again, initial instinct and clear view...

Then there was the shirt pull when nearly clean through... And from my view, I'm not even sure Whelan attempted anything other than a shot when he got his second yellow card.

Who cares though eh? Best bit of the day was that about 20 seconds before we got the winner, I was seething and asking, quite loudly, where the hell the ref had found 7 minutes of added time  :drunk:

It was great today.

It was good last week despite the loss!

There was definitely a foul. I find the refs at this level favour the full time teams.

That was ul there with beating Worksop 18 months ago in the last minute.

Merthyr on Tuesday, it should be great.

Thornton 0 Steeton 2

Maybe flattered then a little bit. Was 0-0 until about 65 minutes, Thornton didn’t take chances in first half. New lad got sent off after Thornton went 1 down.

Let me know if you are coming when Maghull come up here mate and I’ll come say hello.
