Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I glanced. Saw the "incredible hike of concourse beer prices" and didn't bother with any more. Complaining about things like that which increase revenue is what helps keep us on the right side of PSR. We cant expect to be little old Everton but want to dine at a better table without changes of that nature, however galling and/or insignificant they might be.

As for the article I suspect its agenda driven and written whilst the embers of last night are still smouldering. I can't judge Hammond until 2 Sep although so far could be better. Kinnear, despite charging a whopping £7 for beer (going rate at any event)gets a longer pass as strategically nobody knows where this version of Everton is going.

I mean we're literally one game into the season though? with the window still open even?

Deeming this as a summer of 'chaos' right in this moment in time is asinine. Revisit it in January like, by all means..

No, I’ll revisit it on a game by game basis the longer we go without addressing the key areas that should’ve been addressed months ago.

Get Josh Brownhill & Sergio Regulion in. Surely they’d be easy deals to make happen, both being available on free contracts.

Are they fantastic, no, but it might mean we don’t have to have two keepers and Tyler Onyango on the bench.

Plough the rest of what we have into a top quality RW & RB. Love Jake but we should not be accepting him as our starting RB, he’s a CB ffs.
i don’t disagree but i think our recruitment team needs to focus all of its attention on the right side of the pitch specifically with pace

If he’s just talking about the deal itself then it’s fair. It’s a hell of a lot of money invested into a player soon to be 33.

As a player he’d still walk into our side, he’s a good footballer, but there’s an array of centre midfielders that’d walk into our side yesterday that aren’t coming to the end of their career and on big wages.

It’s sad that our recruitment has been so lacklustre that some people in the thread are asking why aren’t we going for Xhaka/Vardy/Brownhill, when in an ideal world they shouldn’t really even be considerations.
That's the criteria we should be using. Worry about how many years we get out of him later.

I would argue that would be reckless. Especially after already investing 12 million into one year of Jack Grealish. As a club I don’t think we can afford to not look at the bigger picture.
