How come? like it was 'extremely important' that we won last night yeah?
Lots of reasons really

We need to get off to a decent start and back to back losses in winnable matches would be the opposite of a decent start. Yesterday's loss puts more pressure on this match.

We need to make sure we have a good home record this year because changing stadium can be a tricky transition. The earlier we get the first win the better. It will become a hurdle to overcome mentally if we go on a winless run at home.

I don't want a relegation battle this year - that would be completely unacceptable. And getting off to another terrible start would make a relegation battle pretty inevitable.

No, it wouldnt.

Did it last season? season before?

We lost our first 4 matches last season and ended up in trouble and had to sack a manager in January. Another terrible start would mean it's inevitable we get in trouble. I would back Moyes to get us out of trouble, but why get in trouble in the first place.

I find it baffling how people do not see the importance of a good start if we want to improve.

We haven't won an August league game in 4 years, and have had 3 straight terrible seasons. I don't understand how this point can be argued tbh.

But you're saying that a relegation battle would be 'inevitable', which is patently false?..

..aaanyway

After last night, people will be going and expecting the worst instead of just being excited and up for the new era. If Brighton score in the first 10 mins it’ll get hostile straight away and set the tone for home matches for the rest of the season.

We’ve been garbage for so long that any bump in the road of new expectations, makes us revert to type and fall into a pit of despair. This cycle has to end!

For me personally, I’ll just be an emotional wreck as I sit down in my seat for the first time and forget there’s a game on!

This has huge potential to go badly wrong. An expectant crowd on what should be a joyous day; a team, low in quality and confidence, feeling the pressure; a manager having a sulk; an empty CEO executive box; an unscreeded roof...

Away win.

The last thing we want on Sunday is players being scared to make a mistake.
Hopefully, it will help being at home!
We all need to give it our best as well as the players.

If we witness a repeat of what our team did last night Brighton will be licking their chops having a better end product than a newly promoted Leeds. Transfer market woes of not dealing with important places to fill is just bordering on insanity. Can’t see us getting a result next week in our shiny new stadium.
