2025/26 Adam Aznou

Just playing devil advocate here.

Let's say you where Moyes and your remit was to get us safe this season but the fellas you where trusting with recruitment and negotiations weren't bringing you the tools, how would you play it?

I think he's in tough spot Moyes...I think he knows he's in the hands of people he can't trust.

Possibly that is the case. But the ONLY way to play it is to deal with it and bring your experience to bear getting perfromances out of the players handed to you.

This is why we apply the term 'professional' to manager and players.

He had a mare in the Roma game. Looked way out of his depth for me.
He's probably going to need time if Roma was anything to go by. Good luck to the lad but I doubt he's ready for the prem just yet.

All young players take time to settle, especially from abroad let's all give him some time, Bayern we're not happy to lose him by all accounts.

He was signed as one for the future. Moyes chucked him in against decent opposition in Roma and he was way off where he needs to be to play in the Premier League, regardless of whether he's injured.

Leeds bought their LB this Summer for a similar price to what we paid for Aznou and he looked the part last night. Our recruitment at LB, particularly since we let Ashley Young go who was the only cover for Myko, doesn't make sense.

The average premier league manager has a job for about 16 months. Be crazy to give a manager full say on the transfers as they’re going to be thinking short term to try and keep themselves in a job longer and once they’re booted a new manager will have to try and make a team from the previous managers players.

Feels like there’s a fair bit of conflict of the direction the club should take behind the scenes.

Which is exactly why Moyes has a cheek to moaning about lack of signings. He said absolutely nothing when Kenwright was selling off our best players year-on-year to pay off the banks and Philip Green. Because he knew his position was infallible whilst Billy Liar was owner. Now that there's a proper structure who will hold a manager to account for bad results he's flipping out and blaming everything else.

Earn your money and get these players performing or walk away? before you're pushed, that is.

I guess they're saying he got outplayed in this game:

Don’t think he even got on the pitch which cheered him up no end.

Edit: got a few minutes actually, but stiff miffed

Might be a kid, but he opted out of a Morocco call up to try and cement a place for Bayern, failed and started moaning.

If he thinks he should be a starter for one of the best teams in world football, then he will love it if he is being “protected” at Everton.

Surely we haven’t fallen out with him already by suggesting he doesn’t start yet even when Myko is out, leading to a moan, hence his exclusion from the squad??

Sounds very exciting, but surely just injured.

we know we need signings moyes knows

You could be right but maybe after him spending a couple of hours with David Brent and his slick do'd sidekick,Moyes has thought these 2 ain't up to scratch.

I think Moyes sussed them out quickly and had decided to go in early in the press to apply maximum pressure on them to get recruitment sorted.

Whether we like Moyes or not he's been round the block enough times to know blaggers in the game and I think he knows Kinnear and Hammond are blaggers.

You only had to see Kinnear cobble together that "Everything is fine" interview after Moyes said recruitment was behind...He knows Moyes is on to him.

He spent a decade-plus working under the biggest blagger in football, dear old Billy Liar, and still says he was the best chairman he ever worked with. Defends him to the hilt. Moyes cares about what's best for Moyes and always has, hence why his arsey attitude isnt to be applauded.

Kinnear is a Careerist...he'll do what's best for Kinnear and if that's throwing Moyes under the bus he will.

Kinnear and his mate with the Fibreglass hair-do have us going into a season conceding points to newly promoted sides...that precisely where i didn't want us.

Thats fair enough mate but I'd put the club in the hands of Moyes before Angus Kinnear.
