2025/26 Adam Aznou

He would have had a horrible time as well. We now have 2 leftbacks, one is deemed to not be ready and the other is injured and nowhere near good enough.
Way to deal with that is to play a back three: surprised he didn't do that

Or to play a mid or low block and counter: surprised he didn't do that either

Think the tactics were miles wide of the mark yesterday, we had absolute fa shape off the ball, was like watching a load of schoolkids at times.

Particularly bizarre because our low block last season was genuinely great. Maybe just too much forced personnel change.

He might be.
But his performance against Roma already raised concerns that he wasn’t ready.
You could have said that about any Everton player against Roma apart from maybe KDH.

Aznou has played to Everton's average when he's been on the pitch, which is to say bang average/poor.

Baffled at how untrained we looked.

Some forced personnel change - but majority of that starting XI were with us last season and have had a full pre-season.

Makes me think Moyes didn't elect for that option against this opposition. Which you could argue is fair enough - don't draw them onto us, get the crowd up, etc. However with the personnel we had (or didn't have) I'd have thought it would be necessary.

Look, I’m not bagging the lad. I’m hoping he’s gonna come good… very good.

But he’s a young lad and probably not quite ready for the blood and thunder of the prem.

We needed Garner in midfield, but Moyes took him out of there to play him at LB when we had a new LB to play.

It's as simple as that.
