2025/26 Adam Aznou

Moyes protecting him? Really?
I remember young Coleman constantly making mistakes and bad decisions in his first games for us and yet Moyes played him week in week out until he became excellent.
I think today Moyes went for the safer option. May be he is getting old, I don't know but it annoys me that so many teams around us are not afraid to play young players and we need to send them on loan for at least two seasons just to give them a start in a random PL game.

I thought he looked well off the pace against Roma. If that's been reflected in training then I think it would've been harsh to send him tonight.

I remember that phase of mistakes by Coleman. It was painful but his overall performances were good. I don't think that would be the case with Aznou now.

Didn’t Coleman spend a season on loan at Blackpool

May be you are right ...
And yet Moyes plays Iroegbunam who is far from being PL quality when he has at least two experienced players that could have done much better in his position in Garner and KDH (plus Armstrong who I think is better than Tim but will not get minutes under Moyes).

The temptation as supporters is we think we're all knowing but in this instance I don't think anything massively changes no matter who we play tonight.

Yeah we could have thrown Armstrong in there but he's a young lad with hardly any Prem experience and we'd have been asking him to dictate the game. A massive ask.

Coleman was older than Aznou when he got into the first team regularly and had a loan at Blackpool under his belt

Agree.

Maybe his thinking was that he didn't want to expose that left hand side with both Keane and Aznou?

Either way we were completely unbalanced.

He's made one of his awkward points to the people who bought him.

The feller is making decisions now for himself and his own ego, not Everton FC.

Time for him to go if that's the case.

He would have had a horrible time as well. We now have 2 leftbacks, one is deemed to not be ready and the other is injured and nowhere near good enough.
