Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Let's get this right.

1. We went into the season without a right winger, right back and proven striker.
2. (I guess) the board thought we could patch a team together to get a result/results in the first game(s).
3. When we saw the teamsheet most of us knew what was coming.
4. We looked like a bad Sunday league team in the first half.
5. We improved slightly in second half yet didn't genuinely test their keeper at all over 97 minutes.
6. We've now started the season with a completely avoidable defeat and our numerous problem areas are starker than they've ever been.
7. We now have 6 days until a historic game in our new stadium.

Surely, surely the recruitment team isn't going to send these same players into another defeat against Brighton?

The only thing I take from a continued inability to bring in players is that actually maybe we somehow don't have any money and won't be signing anybody else—there is no explanation for failure over 2-3 months to close these positions.

Beto, Tim and Alcaraz are nowhere near first team picks, in any team looking to compete in the Prem.

If they are playing, whilst we still lack a recognised right back, a right winger and a Prem level CF, we will defo struggle.

All 3 should have “For Sale” logos on their shirts, rather than Stake. If we can trade them as makeweights, in deals for decent players, even at a loss, just do it.
We just made Alcaraz permanent.

The purchase of Tyler Dibling will not sort the multiple problems that were evident last night;
1. No full backs
2. Centre halves that aren't comfortable in possession
3. Central midfielders that can't retain possession and panic when pressed
4. No wide right outlet
5. A centre forward that is incapable of controlling the ball and bringing others into play.
6. A manager brave enough to play a 19yr old back up left back ( was he injured?), Grealish and Barry.

To my mind as a minimum we need a RB , CB , CM ( perhaps 2) , RW , versatile wide player and Striker.

In addition when will Moyes play players in their right positions and realize that Beto can't play football?

I'm pretty sure that we don't have the budget to sign Dibling AND solve the rest of the problems, so if that means no Dibling so be it.

Buy backs need to be banned. The bigger teams hoover up youngsters, keep the best ones and allow the lesser ones to go with an option to take them back if they turn out any good.

Another thing, like PSR, that will keep them at the top

I think the amount of players a club can own should be capped …

Or the amount of players they are allowed to loan out can be capped

Like 30 man first team squad , 30 man U19 and so on and the maximum number of loans from each group should be 4 etc

Would stop Chelsea being able to sign all the players.. they had 90 out on loan a few seasons ago across Europe

Would also make players think twice about where they move as if they don’t get a loan and don’t get in the team they will waste a year of their career … means the talent would be more spread out
